Also loved the shot when the moon reappeared and the Ocean Spirit and Aang turn to look seeing their respective partners in the moon and Katara. It was a nice subtle little nod to Aang and Katara's future romance.

I enjoyed the show. My only real gripe with it is the changes to Azula's character. She was never jealous or trying to contend with Zuko in the cartoon and she always had Ozai's favor over him so I personally didn't like that change to her character because for me that changes her dynamic with them too much.

It's reason enough that many people will let slide on a technicality no mater how you wanna argue about it. Aang was not conscious when the ocean spirit channeled itself through him so Aang will still not be able to bring himself to kill Ozai while he has autonomy and awareness. The best you can argue is that Aang willingly gave himself to the ocean spirit knowing full well it was gonna go on a murder spree because it was the only way but still that's different than doing the killing by his own hand which is way harder to mentally get pass.

Initially, Ozai sent Zuko on an impossible mission. Zuko set out several years before Aang thawed. There were no signs that the Avatar really was out there, except for the cycle. So technically, Zhao didn't lie. Ozai really didn't care about Zuko like that, at least not in the sense of familiar tenderness. He just wanted Zuko to become like Azula so that he could give Zuko the crown.

Ik everyone has their own opinion on the live action but the whole point of one is to accurately actualize the original into real life. It doesn't have to be 100% but should at least mostly be the same, bc a lot of changes; unnecessary scenes and extra plots with terrible character development took the budget they could've used elsewhere or in the later seasons. The comet was practically only used to take out the air benders? They conquered so much of the Earth kingdom and the world without the comet. They didnt have any power ups. If Aang was still frozen, and sozins comet never returned, the Fire nation would still have taken over the world. They're industrialized and have better tech. Also the water benders have a power up. One of my issues with the live action show is that Aang, tho not as boring as the one in the movie is a little to serious. He has his moments but most of the show was him whining, i didn't see enough of his playful side and his relationship with Katara and Sokka was almost non existent. Zuko and Iroh carried and Zhao's character, even tho he wasn't really like this in the cartoon was great

Bro seeing Aang murder hundreds of fire benders on those ships makes me wonder if that's why the original show creators left production on this show. I know in the original he just kinda threw waves at them, and they showed people surviving in the water. But that's kind of hard to believably portray in an live action setting. Point is this should actually be a major moral dilemma for Aang. Like he just killed people. But he's supposed to be worried later about having to kill Ozai. Yeah but this situation is different. Real world, when you fight a war you mostly have a place to retreat to, but here the Northern water tribe have nowhere to go for the medics to do their actual job. With how village is set up, they were all trapped with no where to go. The medics doing medical work are pointless in this specific scenario because their healing isn't immediate, it's an aid. And what they were sent to do isn't really "fighting" they were sent to reinforce defenses which I'm sure all of them can do easily even with lack of experience. Also factor in the fact they volunteered so it's not even on Paku for changing his mind either way. And Zhao's plan was to deactivate their waterbending period so medical water bending didn't matter at all in hindsight.

Things I'm hyped to see for season 2: Team Avatar's return to Omashu Toph's debut episode Iconic Zuko Alone plotline Katara and Toph bitching at eachother (I hope they keep Katara making an offensive blind jab at Toph because that was hilarious ) Toph's rough training + Sokka stuck in a hole The iconic + Library + Desert + Appa abduction ( They have to do this because this is how Sokka found out about Sozin's Comit ) A good chunk of the plot was Ba Sing Se related so hopefully they execute plot mixing of all those city events well. Finale obviously will be the Zuko's ultimate betrayal stunt.

i hope u know that they only have 8 episodes to put a whole season into so yes some things are going to be missing and some things are gonna have to be mashed together. that doesn’t make it a bad adaptation

Also loved the shot when the moon reappeared and the Ocean Spirit and Aang turn to look seeing their respective partners in the moon and Katara. It was a nice subtle little nod to Aang and Katara's future romance.

The CGI was great! Lol Aang's acting and the brother and sister acting was not my cup of tea. I have seen better child/teen actors deliver much better performance. Eeveyrthing else I liked. I've never seen original anime btw. I wouldn't watch this if not for this patreon.

People probably don't like the change on how Zhao died, but seriously? Iroh, killing Zhao instead of the ocean spirit looks like a badass change to me. Actually seeing Iroh murder someone was the last thing I expected and it making sense for his current character.

Also Sheera is talking about the firebenders needing a handicap but isn't even mentioning the fact that water benders had a POWERUP FROM THE FULL MOON and were still getting rocked smh
