2024-03-14 04:16:18 +0000 UTCNon spoilers: In the LN, Ayanokouji knew the exact move he needed to play to escape Arisu's "check" and even win the game, which he then relayed to Suzune's terminal via the computer. However, the chairman guy and his lackeys were playing middleman and interfered with the match by debugging the code Ayanokouji sent to Suzune and inputed a completely different "move" which would've ultimately lost her the match, which is the one she saw on her screen and played. Additionally, that same move was calculated to be basically a "second to best" option compared to the one Ayanokouji sent earlier to help conceal possible evidence of any outside tampering. To Ayanokouji however, he saw Suzune play a completely different move than the one he sent, immediately tipping him off to the interference. But by that point it was too late to do anything, (as time was also running out), so he simply resigned himself to the outcome. In the end, (which would be the end credit scene here), Arisu rematched him by recreating the exact setup of the chess pieces prior to that interference just to confirm what was Ayano's real move, which essentially led to a counter-checkmate.

When Tsukishiro said this he was just saying that ayanokouji was thinking on another level. There was a usual ideal move each turn, but ayanokouji would go beyond that. In the LN it explains it better, but when they altered his moves they wanted it to seem like it was still him and be a good move so no one would notice. So the mf had a team of chess players to be able to come up with a move that is throwing the match but still smart. He’s complimenting him but also salty abt how smart he is

All the kids that come from the White Room lack a base level of empathy because of the environment they were trained in. Sakayanagi believes that geniuses are naturally born & rejects the concept of the White Room hence why she has always wanted to play chess against Ayanokoji who is said to be the greatest graduate from that program

2024-03-13 22:16:27 +0000 UTC- The game with the flashing numbers was Flash Mental Arithmetic. They flash numbers over the course of like 10 seconds and you have to add all of them mentally. The further you get the faster the numbers go. It's only addition. The girl with the red hair beside Koenji, Matsushita, is pretty good at math and she noticed that Ayanokoji solved the hardest question (question 10) which no one else other than Koenji and Sakayanagi solved which is why she gave that suspicious look. - Roshi was spot on with the white room stuff. They touched into a big part of Ayanokojis character and also Arisu. Ayano's father was not genetically gifted at all when it came to intelligence or athletics. There's a big theme of nature vs nurture, where a huge reason his father made the white room was to create an artificial genius to prove natural genius isn't shit. Arisu's dad doesn't like it because it's very cold horrible to the kids and they've been there their whole lives. Arisu wanted to beat Ayano to prove the white room ain't it, which is why at the end of s2 she called him the "false genius". Her dad didn't give her that mission, it's more like she took it on herself. - Sheera was right. Koenji is at the school because he was pretty much forced to. He said he would rather be in China training himself but it's not in his control. He's the heir to the "Koenji Conglomerate" so even though it's not confirmed we could probably assume his family forced him to go and graduate from that school.

I’m not saying he’s on his level, but koji’s father knows the extent of his sons abilities, so tsukishiro has to be above basically every student at the school in terms of ability (whether it’s by influence, intelligence, or physical capability)

The anime makes it seem like he is just an edgy guy. But seeing sakayanagi's dad talking about his tragic past was great about not knowing what family or friends are.
