2024-05-04 00:07:51 +0000 UTCReally? Not abuse? This man barry threw a tantrum solely because he didn't get his way. Do you really think he gives a fuck about Gene? He's just trying to save himself, and because Sally didn't help him he resorted to try to gaslight and bully her to give in. jfc lol

2024-04-15 01:01:46 +0000 UTCExecpt sally is not getting abused at all, she is being a cunt and reciving that same energy in return. Nothing More, nothing less. Let us not disrespect actual abuse victims by claiming fucking sally is one, cause she aint. Just a manipulating, lying, controlling, self centered biatch. Look how she gave 2 fks about Gene, and lied about sam fking her up. Snake like behaviour. You all acting like Barry beat her up? Yall delusional, barry got mad cause she does not give a shit about gene, basically mocking him infront of her coworkers. So of course he gets angry at Sally... But he never puts his hands on her and he DOES NOT abuse her mentaly, do not even try that shit. If anything she is abusing him mentaly Keep defending that wack shit she does, white knights.

2024-04-15 00:56:58 +0000 UTCNah, Sally in the wrong. But because you have a similar mentality as sally you root and defend and relate to her. Making you side with her, it is just how it is. But she manipulating, self centered, controlling, and purely just a cunt. Barry aint never abused her once. Stop saying that shit, slander is no joke lol.

2024-03-15 03:23:30 +0000 UTCI do feel bad for Sally but for some reason I'm still rooting for Barry not in the sense he should get off Scott free but want him to be content I feel like he's just trying to fill some void that can't be filled which sucks plus he made some horrible in the moment decisions that piled up to now. I definitely can see an alternate reality where he never met fuches and goes on to be his best self with good support around him but this reality is unfortunately leading him further down the rabbit hole of insanity. I also don't think the girl was being nosy because the whole office saw that crazy ish she just brought it up which is super fair I do believe she should've asked Sally directly if she was OK and if she needed some help or wanted to talk but other than that I'm surprised that wasn't a bigger deal to everyone that was a huge red flag for danger but I guess maybe she's the boss and like the lady said nobody trying to get fired.

2024-03-08 13:35:26 +0000 UTCIn my mind the only thing I could imagine when Gene was getting jumped by the dogs was Kakashi standing on the other side them dogs went light on that man if Gene would've gotten that zabuza treatment he would've been gone gone 🤣.

2024-03-08 13:23:29 +0000 UTCBarry’s actor and Sally’s actor are both so amazing but I need their character s to break up for good already Like Lupa said “this is a -ship but there’s no relation-“ Barry does really love Gene but Barry can kill people Gene love again it’s just in him

2024-02-18 21:29:05 +0000 UTCThere is no contradiction anywhere. Justified literally means "doing something for legitimate reason". Because dealing with sally, a constant horrible person, would be draining however it also wasn’t the optimal and/or beneficial thing to do. Just like what was stated above the most beneficial thing to do would be to have left her ass, but that’s irrelevant. It was over the top because he had an emotional response of anger and I also don’t consider it a big deal because the person he lashed out to was Sally, a piece of shit. No contradiction anywhere what so ever. You all just see, “omg girl got screamed at by guy.” And just infantilize the shit out of Sally.
EmoBurrito
2024-02-17 13:19:23 +0000 UTCDoesn't feel as "off-base" when even you subconsciously make the distinction that it wasn't PHYSICAL violence. Take away the "physical" and what's left to describe his behavior?
Paulothy
2024-02-16 08:11:43 +0000 UTCEither you didn't type what you meant, or bow you're changing what you meant because you're getting backlash. Yes you said his reaction wasn't beneficial, but you also said it was justified (he's in the right) in your opinion. Yes you say his reaction was over the top, but you also say it wasn't a big deal. Which is it?

DelusionalNYC
2024-02-14 22:29:25 +0000 UTCBarry's behavior towards Sally was completely inappropriate and inexcusable. But anyone who describes it as "violent" is totally off-base -- Barry didn't cross the line into physical violence. Was he aggressive? Yes. Was he intimidating? Yes. Was he "violent"? No. We can condemn Barry for his behavior without exaggerating the extent of what he did.

2024-02-14 21:33:50 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, yeah Barry was already a little nuts, but I feel like it went to another level not just when he shot up the monastery to go after Fuches, but when he shot his “prodigy” in the head. That could also be why he kept hallucinating all those other times, and it contributed to his sanity dwindling down.
G A H I
2024-02-14 18:52:48 +0000 UTCI don't think I've seen a show give whiplash as hard as Barry, one second you are laughing, the next is the most intense seen ever. THe characters are likable then dicks. It's insane. At this point Hank and Cristobal are the only straight likable characters but then you remember that Cristobal left his whole family behind.. The characters are so human, it's crazy

2024-02-14 14:23:04 +0000 UTCSheera has very strong opinions, most shows she is super for the female characters and be shitting on the male characters. Surprised to see her going so hard on Sally. I think she see's this show more comedy than dark anyways, she be laughing at almost everything this show regardless of if it's dark or not lol.

2024-02-14 14:10:57 +0000 UTCSheera is just full of bad takes this episode
Isaiah Cox
2024-02-14 10:53:16 +0000 UTCYeah the way Barry blew up on Sally was insensitive and unacceptable, but y'all gotta think about the state of mind Barry was in at that moment. He's manic and is in panic mode, thinking everything he's gotten and his new life is about to be taken away from him if he doesn't figure out the Gene situation. So his focus is in no way there with Sally. Like I said, still unacceptable but understandable (especially with Barry being like a child and unexperienced socially). I mean he could've just killed Gene tbh, but he's been trying to give up that old life (even though he hasn't) and the guilt and connection to Gene is what's in the way. I feel like he feels like he owes Gene for being there for him all those times and giving him his "New life" in a sense. Gene in a way replaced Fukes role to Barry.
XJ.
2024-02-14 10:47:46 +0000 UTCI swear I feel like regardless of the show 99% of the time Sheera is gonna disagree with the women characters even if they’re clearly in the right. It’s weird

2024-02-14 09:39:52 +0000 UTCHere’s my take on this situation, Barry yelling at Sally was unacceptable, but I don’t think that level of aggression was enough for cops to be involved. Cops are gonna ask questions, and if they find out all Barry did was yell? It’s not likely that he will get arrested based off that. But I’m not a cop so, i cant really say

2024-02-14 08:32:22 +0000 UTCthe way he acted was completely unhinged, especially the fact that later he acted like it didn't happen and let sally apologize to him when she did nothing wrong. he knows sally used to be with an abuser and he should know that screaming in her face and pinning her against a wall is just wrong, to do to anyone, but especially his gf who is a victim. barry repeatedly demanded that she do something for him in an incredibly aggressive way. sure, he didn't physically hurt her but he was violent.
alyssa
2024-02-14 07:45:48 +0000 UTCIf you want to be literal, sure, maybe not, but its abusive, nonetheless.
Melon Lord
2024-02-14 07:42:07 +0000 UTCHonestly it seemed like Sheera and Lupa were acting like Sally got her comeuppance. Like she deserved or had it coming. I don't know Lupa at the end going 'he screamed at me really loudly' was weird.

2024-02-14 07:35:00 +0000 UTCYea like i said an episode or two ago. Fuches jus added tons of fuel to Barry's raging psychopath fire jus so Fuches could have his own cash cow. I want a nice ending for Hank and Cristobal. They are somehow the best guys in the show lol.
Corey Leach
2024-02-14 07:15:40 +0000 UTCI've clearly said throughout this whole thread that Barry, "blew up", "bugged out", implying that clearly his reaction was way out of proportion. Everyone is going by their feelings instead of actually reading. I can UNDERSTAND his reaction to scream at someone when they are constantly belittling you and treating you as an object throughout the whole fucking show. Again I don't feel bad at all for a horrible person getting yelled at. And its wild that all you people do, probably because you all infantilize her.

2024-02-14 06:19:11 +0000 UTCwho are you contacting in a situation like that?
DelusionalNYC
2024-02-14 05:38:47 +0000 UTCThis does not excuse Barry's behavior AT ALL but he probably didn't apologize to Sally because he very easily might not even be aware of how out of control he was at the time -- he was full-blown manic and may not have full recall of how he acted
DelusionalNYC
2024-02-14 05:38:18 +0000 UTCThink it's way too early to say Barry is done with Sally just from their interactions in that particular day -- he's very clearly in the midst of a manic episode that day. If he was done with her, he wouldn't have called her to tell her his good news.
DelusionalNYC
2024-02-14 05:34:50 +0000 UTCI'm very sympathetic to victims of domestic violence but are we calling what happened in that scene "domestic violence" now?
DelusionalNYC
2024-02-14 05:30:06 +0000 UTCBro it's not irrelevant. We're talking about us the audience reacting to Barry's behaviour. WE know that he's a murderer and that he's coming apart at the seems. Sally is scared in the same level anybody would be scared I that situation regardless whether the person is a murderer or not. We are even more concerned because we know that Barry is having a full on mental breakdown. Also, you saying it's not that crazy just means even without knowing what we know about Barry, you think that this is a normal reaction to how Sally treated Barry. It is not.

2024-02-14 04:50:54 +0000 UTCthis is the first episode that made me feel truly uncomfortable wtf is gonna happen
Kablamoo101
2024-02-14 03:39:28 +0000 UTCYall that scene with Sally and Barry was literally is not a "mind ur business" situation. If someone sees an abuse victim in a Domestic violence situation, they need to report it bc often times victims have their phones taken away by their abusers, or are limited in their resources(abusers isolate victims). Thats why the crew was so worried about her and wanted to speak up. You should def report stuff if you see it: You can save someones life.
PetersThimble
2024-02-14 03:25:41 +0000 UTCim sorry but the way sheera always blames the woman makes me so maddddd like bro barry is in the wrong wtff

2024-02-14 03:15:20 +0000 UTCyall realize barry is incredibly unstable and insane right now, right? you aren't supposed to be on his side lolll and he's being violent and aggressive towards sally, that girl should report it?
alyssa
2024-02-14 03:11:33 +0000 UTCAre you guys deeping this? Barry is DONE with Sally, from being invested with anything she has to do, the explosion at work, hung up phone call. The fact he has to hear Gene say "I love you Barry", clearly shows he finds no purpose in living from his relationship with Sally.

2024-02-14 01:59:13 +0000 UTC@John - I don't care if someone disagrees with me? Like idk what point that was. I wouldn't be posting my opinion if I cared if people disagreed with me. And Uh dude it is irrelevant because we're talking about this fucking scene in specific. Yeah no shit if Barry actually fucking hurt sally then I would be on her side. I'm not going of off by what he COULD DO, but what HE HAS DONE to her. Again originally, my point is I don't feel bad for a shitty person treating people shitty that got screamed at. AND yes, that includes getting screamed at right in her fucking face. I don't care if people have bad reactions to what I say. It would be nice to actually get a fucking argument and not people projecting their own insecurities into my comment. Literally making shit up and then arguing with themselves. What's more pathetic is you tryna make up scenarios in your head so you can virtue signal and make yourself feel better. I wouldn't call them insane, I'd call them emotionally immature, for going off of their feelings instead of engaging with what was actually said. Cope harder weirdo.
EmoBurrito
2024-02-14 01:52:14 +0000 UTCAgreed. As annoying and unconsciously manipulative Sally is, she's stil a survivor of an abusive relationship. And Barry KNOWS this. Seeing her revert back to how she was with Sam was heartbreaking.
John FD Lobrano
2024-02-14 01:47:19 +0000 UTCshit can have damning consequences for those essentially falsely accused that you might not see. Sometimes its better to be safe than sorry but alot of times you are just gonna slap a rep on someone who doesn't deserve it.
Tyrese Marshall
2024-02-14 01:46:12 +0000 UTCUh dude, the murder part is relevant to if he could actually snap and hurt Sally someday. Who cares if she knows? How will that save her if something bad happens? Bill Hader himself said that during Sally's stage performance where he played Sam, he was literally about to choke her for real because he was so unhinged. Sorry, but the literal creator and lead actor of this show would disagree with you in every way about your analysis of the scene. That's a fact lmao The fact that you end with "reading classes and stop projecting" is hilariously pathetic. You had a really bad take, and you can either continue to dig your hole or just accept that. Everyone is not insane for instantly reacting badly to what you said, you said something that elicits a bad reaction. Deal with it.
John Cedar
2024-02-14 01:45:28 +0000 UTC@john Him being a murderer is not only irrelevant because Sally doesn't know his a fucking psychopathic killer, but also doesn't change my original point. When did I say that yelling like that was normal??? I CLEARLY said "blew up", and "bugged out". You'll should really take some reading comprehensive classes and stop projecting, holy fuck. What sally has done to Barry is arguably worse. She has literally constantly used him as prop/object and belittle him every opportunity she gets. The only difference is the show plays it off as comedy. Regardless, I could care less of who is the more abusive one. My point is I won't lose sleep for a POS getting screamed at.
EmoBurrito
2024-02-14 01:42:16 +0000 UTCBarry snapping on Sally is proof that he's too far gone. I remember watching the end of this episode thinking that it was all over for Barry. We're close to the point of no return, It reminded me of when Hank and Marie found out about Walt.
Jamaal Ellison
2024-02-14 01:40:13 +0000 UTCWhat an unhinged thing to say, the dude is literally a muderer who will kill almost anyone in any way for the right amount of money. He was unironically about to cut off a dude's eyelids with garden shears last episode. I am really concerned for the relationships you've had in your life, romantic or not, to consider that level of yelling to be "normal" and not insanely fucking frightening. It's not normal dude, not in the slightest. Even if he talked to her like that in the privacy of their own home it wouldn't be ok. I'm sorry but being insensitive, rude, self-centered, or oblivious to other's problems in life (or whatever else you're holding Sally to) is not "abuse" like backing someone into a corner and screaming in their face while towering over them with a manic expression on your face AT THEIR JOB. What Sally has done in their relationship is not comparable to what he did this episode.
John Cedar
2024-02-14 01:37:30 +0000 UTC@Oni Legend - Instead of being a butterfly and having your feelings hurt. Read my ACTUAL fucking sentences. When did I say Sally should just take it and shut up? When did I say Barry was in the right? When did I say Barry doing what he did was the most optimal thing to do? When did I say Barry is in a good mental state? You're clearly fucking triggered because your making shit up in your head. My original comment is that I don't FEEL BAD for Sally and I can understand why Barry blew up. We're clearly fucking playing semantics with the word threatening. Oh wow he screamed at her face? When she has been constantly belittling him , and treating him less than person the whole fucking show? Oh my god now I FOR SURE feel bad for her. You're CLEARLY infantilizing her. I don't care if a shitty person gets screamed at, AND YES that includes if its right in their fucking face. Cry me a river.

John FD Lobrano
2024-02-14 01:30:04 +0000 UTC“Infantilizing” yeah aight buddy and i said PRACTICALLY threatens her for a reason. If a nigga LITERALLY gets in your face, backs you up to a wall, is much more physically imposing than you, is obviously not alright in the head, and is repeatedly demanding that you do something for them NOW that is a clear sign of aggression and threat through body language and his words. Just because he didn’t say “or i’ll shoot you” does not make it not a threat. If somebody does that to you, you’re telling me you’re just about to just take it and be all calm and chill like nothing happened??? And you keep saying “oh its not a big deal”. Sally being triggered by it and going back to the same place she was at in her abusive relationship MAKES it a big deal. Barry snapping like that and showing that he is obviously mentally unstable MAKES it a big deal. You’re acting like he yelled at her from 20 feet away and that it was solely because of Sally treating him badly and not the fact that he’s increasingly mentally unstable(something that has been showcased a bunch with the Korengal shit, him killing everyone in the monastery, hallucinating, and the end of this episode)
Oni Legend
2024-02-14 01:24:42 +0000 UTCits trauma though, hard not to be empathetic towards sally at least for me personally . What Barry did is way worse to me than anything sally has done up until this point
Renni .
2024-02-14 01:04:31 +0000 UTCYessir the Barry crash-out season is here. His scene in the office with Sally and the scene with Gene at the end lets you know real quick this isn’t “hitman trying to get out and make an honest living” territory anymore. This is “this man is legitimately terrifying and dangerous to be around regardless of if you’re gangster, cop, civilian, or even a child” territory now Nothing drops that comedy tone quicker than seeing Bill Hader’s tall imposing ass corner and intimidate Sally out of nowhere. Reminds me of the House of the Dragon finale when Rhaenyra dropped that Song of Ice and Fire tidbit to Daemon and that nigga whole energy changed and he started talking different
Oni Legend
2024-02-14 00:53:09 +0000 UTCNo one said it was the optional thing to do. Yeah no shit the most logical thing to do would just be to leave. Even my original comment, “ it wasn’t beneficial”. And nowhere did he threaten her too. Stop infantilizing women, she’s a grown capable adult. She treated him like shit constantly and he bugged out and screamed at her boo fucking hoo.
EmoBurrito
2024-02-14 00:51:32 +0000 UTCYour trauma doesn’t give you an excuse to be a bitch/shitty to your partner 🤷. That goes for Barry too, but him screaming to her face isn’t a big deal considering how horrible she’s been to him.
EmoBurrito
2024-02-14 00:46:47 +0000 UTC“Everybody’s got a boiling point, so him screaming at her face isn’t that big a deal” is a WILD thing to say Yeah? So because Barry is obviously coming apart mentally because of HIS actions and bullshit, she’s just supposed to take it when he loses his shit and practically threatens her to do what he wants? Seriously? Sally’s an absolutely GOD AWFUL partner but thats grounds for packing your shit and getting away from her, not verbally abusing her and backing her up against a wall in front of all her coworkers and employees Be fucking fr rn

2024-02-14 00:22:57 +0000 UTCI don't feel bad for Sally at all. She's constantly being a bitch and treating Barry like shit. So seeing him react that way, while not beneficial, is justified in my opinion. Everyone's got a boiling point, so him screaming at her face isn't that big of a deal. Why should he be sensible to her when she never is with him. And sure, does she have some trauma in her past she has to deal with? For sure, but that doesn't give you an excuse to be constantly a bitch to your partner. Now I have no idea what Barry is going to do these next episodes with Sally, BUT as of right now his behavior is completely understandable with me.

2024-02-14 00:22:19 +0000 UTCThis season does so much in such a short amount of time. Turns the shows plot on its head several times. Look back at the start of this season when you guys are done in a few weeks and ask how you go here. Crazy.

2024-02-14 00:11:15 +0000 UTCI feel like Roshi was the only one to highlight the gravity of the situation with Sally. She's literally worried and is trying to prevent a dark path in relationship with Barry. I'm sure her husband started like Barry did of yelling at her aggressively and physically threatening her. Also Sally shouldn't have to apologise for Barry's behaviour and make excuses for him for going at her like that. If anything all she could do was hold a meeting to check in on everyone who was there and have a moment of reflection considering what her tv show is about. Plus the line of Questioning her costar got when asking if they should report it is not something positive to compare to with police Questioning because the issue was immediately brushed aside like it is when women try to report abusive situations. And any sane good person would not mind their business when seeing something like that, Barry's lucky that there weren't more people there or security wasn't called or hell that no one called the police. And the fact that he didn't even apologies for what he did probably is terrifying for Sally cause she's probably scared shitless that it could escalate in to something more if he feels no remorse. I don't even like Sally but knowing men and women that have been in abusive situations this episode was rough. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk

2024-02-14 00:11:04 +0000 UTCI died when I saw the Uber was the same car as Barry's 🤣 Also I think the girl actress was just concerned for Sally's safety more than anything else

2024-02-13 23:48:10 +0000 UTCYeah no, Barry is insane and GENUINELY a scary person. Like even if Sally doesn't know he's an assassin, she DOES know he has killed people before. So that plus this behavior has GOTTA be terrifying.
