I think it's really cool that yall watched Flower of Evil and Death's Game back to back like this. Spoilers for those who haven't watched Flower of Evil... Flower of Evil in my opinion did a really good job at showing that people with sociopathic tendencies and traits can still have empathy. Sociopathy can be genetic so it made since he was worried he'd turn out like his father. He also showed some of those sociopathic traits, such as not understanding why people felt or reacted a certain way, or when he had to practice facial expressions in the mirror. But it was obvious later in the show that he still did have feelings. He had the ability to empathize. He just didn't know how or that he even could. Honestly, the stereotypes around people with Psychopathy and Sociopathy, in my opinion, have made things worse, since they're convincing those people that they can't change anything about themselves. One if my university instructors likes to refer to Psychopathy and Sociopathy as a spectrum, since everyone is different and functions on a different level. Anyways, that was a super long post LMAO. I think the writers of both series did a good job of showing the different sides of the same topic.

It's one thing to literally not be able to feel much or any empathy, or to be able to show empathy like most people would. That in it of itself is not the person's fault. It's another thing entirely to be a murderer. There are plenty of people with Psychopathy and Sociopathy who don't commit crime. It's an unfortunate disorder to have, but a lot of people with psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies can live fairly normal lives. Often times you won't even really know they have those tendencies since they are good at masking. And masking isn't necessarily a bad thing either. A lot of people like that mask so that others will treat them like they would everyone else. And when you think about it, haven't we all done that at some point?

wild ride. when they showed what happened to the dashcam footage in the flashback, so thought he would retrieve it. "cant kill him but i can take him down". but that never came back. then when he attacked him at his house i thought "oh he wants to get him to kill him on camera. win win. he's no longer living as a killer and gets his revenge" then turns out no cameras there. then i spent the rest of the ep waiting to see what death's "intervention" would look like only to get my second prediction at a later date lol

i read about a study similar to the one mentioned here. due to their lack of empathy, these business men are successful cause they never take into consideration human feelings. so yeah they will never release your movie, fire you when you get pregnant, cover up harassment, do massive layoffs, and manipulate every loophole in the law they can to get to the top and stay there. look at murdach.......trump......

You’re all good, the actor for Sang-tae does favor the one for Jae-seop sometimes and I’ve mistaken them for each other in other projects. It helps that they’re in the minority of darker-skinned actors (relative to Koreans), though.

i know yall probably dont realize this cuz kdramas are a pretty recent thing for you guys, but the cast of this drama is PACKED. there's so many characters bc of the whole premise of the story and they're played by pretty well-known actors. the mc and all the ppl he lives as, his mom, death, the antagonist and his brother (a kpop idol turned actor), basically anyone who has more than 5 lines lol. So exciting seeing all these familiar faces... oh and im surprised yall didnt catch it, the loser bully was the same bully from All of Us Are Dead (the guy that just wouldnt stop coming back to life)...

The guy you mistook for Jae-seop isn’t him, but he is a major character in another k-drama called It’s Okay Not to Be Okay! He’s also the same cop from a couple of episodes ago. Though the endgame play is incredibly smart, I still think Yi-jae is way too caught up in his own head — I would’ve taken that pen and that dashcam memory card and delivered them to the police fucking immediately (preferably after making a copy of the dashcam footage and stashing it somewhere just in case charges don’t stick because homeboy is rich and powerful) 😭
