As someone who hasn't seen the original, I never once felt that this series was rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode, and I live for the character dynamics! Really hope they do a second season!

Kuwabara just went with it(I don't think HE realized toguro wasn't trying to kill him). It was sort of a "You're holding back, Yusuke. So I'm going to show you what happens when you do." Toguro wanted to fight Yusuke at his full strength because Toguro wanted to die. He also wanted, in a really twisted way, to make Yusuke stronger in hope that Yusuke would choose a different path than he did.

It's definitely got some issues, but it helped shape Shonen anime into what it is today by celebrating the tropes and then immediately turning them on their head.

But I think it's better that you didn't remember the anime too much when you watched this. I think that lets you enjoy the live action more.

Studios are not gonna pour time and money into these adaptation when they dont do well and with what they got i think they did a great job. coming from someone who never watched the anime it got me into it and became a fan. now comparing the two its not even close the anime is far better in story character development and all but this alone is no where near bad or done wrong

That's how I feel about this adaptation. They ruined multiple arc and rushed storylines for no real reason
