Pretty sure Toji targeting Megumi had nothing to do with him being his son. Nanami, Maki, and Naobito were clapped up so Megumi was in the best shape making him the current strongest in the room. Although I will say even at full health I'd probably scale Megumi above Nanami at this point. 1) Megumi has beaten a special grade on his own. 2) Domain Expansions are considered the pinnacle of Jujutsu sorcery and while it is incomplete Megumi has a Domain Expansion while Nanami is not capable of doing one. 3) As we saw this episode Megumi's incomplete Domain Expansion is still powerful enough that while he couldn't overwhelm Dagon's complete one he was still able to cancel out the guaranteed hit effect.

Yet another week of amazing background music the soundtrack when toji was casually walking up on Dagon and when sukuna was walking up on nanako mimiko and jogo was phenomenal it brought a chill to the spine. The way the author handles sukuna an actual demon is so fire 🔥 none of this let him out so he can win my battles. As much as I love Naruto it's a big pet peeve like when sakura just got a scratch from Naruto not controlling his emotions and letting the whole demon run wild while these two in kaisen turning into chunky soup. The manga is very clear on this, Naobito losing his right arm slowed him down significantly. Think about it this way, when he uses projection sorcery he has to make a “reasonable” path of 24 frames following physics. With one arm you can’t use your arms to keep balance when making fast movements, so his projection frames have to account for this, severely limiting his potential options and slowing down his decision making. If he had both arms, he wouldn’t have been in the place where the volcanoes were, and if he was he’d certainly be able to project out in time.

Playful cloud (the tri chucks Toji was using) is the only special grade curse tool that is not imbued with a curse technique it's strength completely depends on the wielder. The reason Toji went for Megumi is because his body detected him as the strongest in the room. Megumi mentioned that Toji was faster than Sukuna. Naobito is actually faster than Jogo but because he lost an arm he was a lot weaker fighting against Jogo. Also to clear up Sheera's confusion at the end you have to take into account that Jogo literally lit them on fire where as Mahito didn't really land a hit on Nanami because Mahito needs to touch you to transfigure your soul and then your dead. (Mahito landed one hit but Nanami subconsciously covered his soul with cursed energy which allowed him to not get transfigured)

Gege said in a interview that Jogo was the leader of the cursed spirits because he was obviously the strongest of all four but he gave over that position to Mahito because he saw the evolution and potential in him. Jogo is however a glass cannon. His regenerative abilities are about the same as Hanami and Dagon but it's suprisingly easy to damage him, and he wouldn't have survived getting 4 black flashes like Hanami did. The only problem is that he has speed that rivals even Naobito so good luck hitting him.

I don't think the fights' results in this manga/anime are because of powerscaling. I think they're realistic in a way. To beat Nanami in his current form, you just have to avoid his touch so that he cannot transform you. But for Jogo, if you can't avoid his fire (like Gojo), then you can't stop your body from burning. Because it's literal fire. No matter how "strong" you may think you are, you will still burn. If you have reverse curse healing, you can survive it, but that's it.

Jogo is the strongest of the four Cursed Spirits (before they started dying off). you have to remember that Mahito gets stronger every time he fights because he learns more about his own powers while Jogo already has his own abilities figured out at the start of the series. Also PS, when Nanako started to try and negotiate like an idiot, Sukuna didn't kill her, he killed Mimiko(the sister) as punishment. He gave Mimiko an instant death to punish Nanako before dicing her up. That is MUCH worse than just getting killed the way mimiko did. Mimiko didn't even have time to process anything, her death was instant, Nanako got it sooo so much worse. If she was smart she would've started with where the other finger is, no negotiations, and then begged for him to kill fake Geto. Sukuna acts purely on his whim and pleasure. I think, with the exception of high tier characters, power-scaling is neat in JJK because it is not always who is the strongest, but who is considered a 'bad match' with someone else, for example, how Nobara and Yuji defeated Choso's brothers. Domains and strategy always play a part though, ofc.

Also, there is literally no way they are supposed to know who Toji is or what his intentions are off rip. As far as they are concerned, he is a random neutral wild card (which is actually true anyway). Naobito is the only one who knows who he even is, but he doesn't know why or how he is there. Simply running away isn't going to help him to figure it out. None of them can't just instantly know everything about this Toji and run far enough and fast enough right away.
