Usopp is alright and Luffy has moments like in this episode. So far Zoro acting-wise (imo) has been the weakest but tbf based on the source material zoro's character is literally just "be cool".

Might be because he's the oldest actor of the main crew, or perhaps because he has the most relatable material to pull from (tragic backstory aside), but I love it every time the dude is on screen and chewing the scenery with Zeff or Zoro.

Part Filipino and Scottish/Irish here, and both sides of my family like them some corned beef (it's a big breakfast staple for Visayan's and the Irish enjoy it in general) and my wife's family (Samoan) loves corned beef hash like no ones business. 2023-10-18 17:35:57 +0000 UTCI agree that part of the reason is that. But also it is also because live action makes it much cornier seeing real people say these lines. Its not just the language. Avatar the Last Airbender was english and the voice actors did their job perfectly. They had really intense and exaggerated lines and voice acting. And then look at the live action...though to be fair that live action was a different level of bad. This One Piece Live action definitely did it much better than any live action (I currently can think of at least). But once again, live actions aren't meant to be able to replicate anime or cartoon. Especially a show as goofy as One Piece. Shows like Death Note or Vinland Saga had a possibility of being a decent live action...but they somehow screwed Death Note up anyway. So I just don't think its worth it anymore to adapt a live action from an anime or any animation show.

A bit too much comedy, y'all missed the seriousness with that Garp conversation with Koby, about things being unfair, but still the importance of trying to do the best you can to deal with all of that while still being Good. Damn that was cool, I remember it was so epic in the anime, when Mihawk Stabs Zoro, the blade had stopped right on the heart, something like an inch away from the heart. So Mihawk woulda stabbed Zoro's heart if he had pushed the little blade any deeper. They said something like this with Mihawk holding the blade still stabbing Zoro near the heart: Mihawk: "Why aren't you retreating?" Zoro: "Because it feels like I will lose something very important if I take even a single step back." I believe the dude that walked in starving, that Roshi remembered with the clothes looking the same as in the anime, that Sanji fed. I think he was one of Don Krieg's crewmates. Don Krieg has a lot of equipment (for fighting) and he comes to Baratie too and Luffy ends up defeating him.
