If you haven't seen the movie I would defiantly recommend it. It had no right being as good as it was during the time it came out. Im pretty sure if it would have came out now it probably would've been even better since CGI has gotten better.

I played the games too and I liked them, but you're insane if you think the stories were ever that good. Pokemon is a cool set of games that are highly valued pieces of my childhood too but I don't really care that much about the characters or story structure. The original Castlevania show wasn't based on the games either, if you wanted Dracula to be like the games he'd just act like Satan without all the grey and nuance the show gave him. And Dracula's not even the antagonist anymore, so what story from the games are they supposed to follow? if you weren't on board with the original story by this point, then that's on you for not paying attention.

If you like the show's versions, that's fine, but there is a certain point where it's not even the same story anymore and it's OK if people don't like that. I've already accepted that they are different canons entirely. But the games ARE the true version of Castlevania. So saying you don't like them at all while saying the show is much better is like saying you don't even like Castlevania. The show's version is good and entertaining, but tonally it's like a Dungeons and Dragons fan-fiction with lots of added social commentary and modern cursing. Don't insult the people who've been playing the games for 30 years. They are allowed to be disappointed when the anime departs from what the games did.

The show improves on the writing of the universe and the characters in almost every way. Thank god they didn't listen to the people who complained about Isaac being completely different back in S2 of the original, and I hope they continue to not listen to people who have likely never thought about characters and writing past superficial YouTube breakdowns.

The first Castlevania was slow to start too, that first season barely felt like a season - people are eager to hate this new show for some biased personal reasons in my opinion.

The Abbot basically has a massive Easy Bake Oven that takes out the work of making Night Creatures. He's not doing any intimate or personal work with the dead bodies so really, he's not a real Forge Master so there's probably gonna be some flaws that come out just like how food isn't as good but mostly good enough when you microwave it.

No. So, this Abbot guy isn't even a forge master to begin with so some Night Creatures may come out faulty especially since the Abbot isn't being personal with crafting the Night Creatures. That thing is just one giant 123 ez microwave. Actually from what I last remember, Night Creatures have random souls from hell grafted onto the dead body but this is an extreme rare case of a soul returning to their same body through this process. Fly Eyes was kinda like this ( doubt his soul was grafted back to his original body) who had the ability to speak and remember parts of his old life so it looks like it's about to happen again here.

He says that he went to hell not for being a philosopher or going against Christianity, but for giving up the names of his friends to be tortured and killed in his place. So there seems to be some kind of moral reasoning for going to hell and not just whether you are a Christian or condemned by the church.

From Isaac's storyline, that one nightcreature was saying it was souls from hell that get a chance to come back by possessing nightcreatures, but for some reason Eduard's soul is still in the nightcreature they made from his body here.

Dude's out here with this giant 18ft tall industrial machine that spits out maybe a new nightcreature every other week, and they aren't even fully subservient to him.
