Attorney Woo Ep 9

The kid stuff always makes me tear up

Comments

The lesson my mom would've taken from that wholesome courtroom scene at the end of the episode, would be that if I'd listened to a nigga like mr fart my black ass would've ended up in prison next to him.

Jamaal Ellison

This is the episode that I realized this show was a prequel to the squid games. And mr fart was the old man when he was younger and less rich.

Jamaal Ellison

Also the convenience stores that was shown in this episode is the superior version to our convenience stores. I'm gonna use Taiwan as an example since it's a place I've been to: their 7/11's are WAY better than our USA based 7/11 locations in terms of food quality, because they give a sh*t about how food should be. I find it funny that Roshi thinks the food sucks (and I might be overthinking this: I think he meant bad for kids' health), but even their convenience stores are way more better than here in the USA. If anything, look up Korean Englishman's YT videos about these places and you can see why.

WTT_321

Here I almost mistook Children's Liberation Army for Meta Liberation Army from MHA rofl XD

WTT_321

Same~

Dyastro

lol well you’re perfectly on time! I’m excited for it too! Going to binge watch it over this weekend

blabber90

Yeah, I went to watch some funny dp yt vids (as its been a while) and I found out about it! YO, I'm so excited! The funny thing is, I didn't get the notification until much later on in the day lol. Talk about fate/timing

Dyastro

HILARIOUS episode 😂😂 thoroughly enjoyed

envy

Yesss. I hope they watch this!

Sesho

That defendant makes me think of MJ, actually. He had a fairly mild case of forever child syndrome and brought whole families to his ranch to just play and do kid shit. I wonder how this is going to play out, I just started 😅

Ijaaz Muhammad

I heard that after this episode was released, South Korea changed a few study/school rules because of the student stress!

el

One of the best episodes fr fr

icynub

@Dooly As a fellow Korean, I get why you would feel bothered but I didn’t think they were judging the culture at all lol. They’re just reacting purely based on what the drama is showing them without any knowledge to the Korean culture. The drama doesn’t fully show/explain how the culture works so they’re just picking up things here and there as they go when they can. Also regarding the education system and studying culture in Korea, I’m sure you can benefit from it but at the same time it’s really crazy over there. They did an excellent job with this episode showing the negative side of it (although imo it was just the tip of an iceberg) yet in a wholesome manner. More money you have, these parents starts sending their kids early on to these extra lessons/programs after school. And it’s not just one but multiple lessons/programs. It’s truly wild. But I doubt it’s just Korea though. I think other countries especially in the Asian countries like Japan and China does it as well.

blabber90

🤔 If you were to compare Korea to the U.S. it tends to be more so on the conservative side, therefore yes when it comes to dating and some other aspects of the culture it can be different. But times have changed and now these days they’re becoming more liberal, open and direct about dating and etc. thanks to the millennials and especially the gen z. So it’s really an individual thing and not the whole country. Also, never associate Kdrama to real life…especially components of romantic relationships, like the whole male characters shown to be jealous easily is just one of the typical Kdrama features writers/directors include for the audience’s entertainment primarily targeting the female audience. It doesn’t happen in real life lol

blabber90

so it looks like we only got one video lol, well hopefully that means we get 5 uploads today lol

MC zsn

Yeaaa he wasn’t really being jealous, he was just teasing.

blabber90

‘Korea is behind the times then (sic) the rest of the world’

Dooly

i didnt even say nothing rude relax

dawn

It’s not rumored, the second season is legit coming out tomorrow the 28th on Netflix lol

blabber90

Dawn, South Korea isn’t some third world country. Quite an insulting thing to say about a country you know nothing about.

Dooly

I’m Korean as well and personally think that there’s a lot to benefit from the education system. Is it a bit too Spartan? One can argue that, sure.

Dooly

I don't think he was THAT jealous. He was just kind of teasing Young Woo.

LY

to be fair, i think it's just cultural differences. maybe it's too conservative but these conservative countries also look at western countries and think they're too insane. lol

Karel

seeing comments like this and other comments on other kdramas they watch, korea seems really behind the times then rest of the world lol i dont know how else to explain it like shit we already got past they're still in

dawn

something that made me laugh was roshi being shocked that kids out at late at night or by themselves because roshi from nyc lol as am i and kids be alone at night in the streets in nyc all the time lol. idk if roshi saw that as a kid tho or maybe he was shocked that they do that in korea idk

KeYo

It happens with captive orcas a lot, it's suspected it either happens from them being near the top of water more often in captivity, or due to temperature differences. It's a break down in the cartilage in the fin. It doesn't mean its necessarily the same whale, but it could be because it does happen in captivity.

Panda

I feel like yall don't really understand the "dating" or "liking" culture in Korea. Now I'm not an expert on Dating in Korea, but they are really conservative. The majority of the country believes men and women can't really be friends. So doing extremely nice things for the opposite sex is basically... how can I say... extreme. Lol, I don't know how to explain it, maybe someone else can. But you mainly only do really nice things to the person you date or like. Also, in KDRAMAS the men get jealous easilyyyyy. So though it's a red flag to us, for some reason in Kdramas it's seen often. I just felt like explaining that a little. Just know that DAting culture in Korea is different than in the US. I feel like they play a lot of pull and push.

Laylay

Sky Castle is right there about how bad the study culture is in Korea. They judge themselves as well.

Candice Blair

so like is it common for orca to have their fins bent like that? because i honestly thought that was the whale from free willy tbh lol side note tho. yeah roshi she probably does take medication on the fact that she has autism lol . idk if all autistic people are on medication tho

KeYo

roshi these are first year attorneys. they JUST got out of school. its not like they were homeless before. they got leases! "i been an attorney for two months, surely i am rich now" no bro lol and they are only on a year contract. its not responsible to put the cart before the horse. once they have made and saved some money and have a PERMANANT and STABLE contract, THEN they can live alone if they so choose.

rickie woodson

Appreciate it so we just waiting on two more, might be some midnight uploads

Damarcus Miller

According to the schedule, today's reactions are: Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Secret Invasion, and Bungo Stray Dogs.

Merfhew

We getting 3 videos today? can’t remember what drop on Wednesday lol only know the secret invasion finale came out

Damarcus Miller

its the privilege of living in a safe country: you dont have to worry about anything happening to your kids. another reason this case is super important and serious

rickie woodson

oooh they at Lotteria. finally a restaurant i recognize. brings back memories. sigh i need to get back to asia one day

rickie woodson

children in korea walk around by themselves like in japan. they want their kids to be independent. also woo and the other attorneys are first years so theyre probably making 40k a year

britt

its asia baby! they dont play with school! thats why they be scoring high in world rankings lol. but thats also why they are highly criticized. BTS has a whole song about it. the pressure of the educational institution causes depression which leads to suicide. they are touching on a real life issue of south korea

rickie woodson

“HE doesn’t think it’s cute” cracked me up 💀

mint_f

It’s Korea though. There aren’t any Lawsons. But other than that, Korea is a generally safer country than America.

Dooly

Nah roshi that 7/11 food or Lawson be hitting better in japan than any stateside convenience store

halinton williams

It's completely normal I be driving around in japan seeing 3 year Olds going to stores and walking around from school solo at 3pm

halinton williams

L Kwon

Lo-Filiooo

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hasnain Khan

Tears? Never heard of it

Patrone07

sky castle is idd a fun watch

Keanu

If you like this episode, you’ll like SKY Castle.

Julia

He's in the movie for the kdrama "Kingdom" as well!

Himiko

youll like anohana the flower we saw that day 😭

kay

kotaro lives alone is amazing and sad. I would love it if they watched it.

Haaa?

i mean korea has some insane standards for people, they arent wrong.

Haaa?

The writing of this series is just elite.

Tourism Secretary of Republic of Seulgistan

If so then I know one Netflix anime will make Roshi tear up is (kotaro lives alone)

Fan Daze

Not to mention the gang are still first-year lawyers.

Tourism Secretary of Republic of Seulgistan

I think the criticism is well deserved, at least by what was shown in this episode. many koreans themselves hate the studying/academics culture they have so it's not like it can be excused by "that's just they way they do it over there"

cami ً

Now that I think about it, if the three of you really liked bloodhounds then you guys would REALLY love DP. It's got a similar vibe but perhaps even sadder and more messed up, since it's based on real life. PLUS a second season is rumored to come *eventually*. (1st one wraps up nicely tho, if I remember)

Dyastro

He’s from the amazing Korean drama D.P. You should check it out it’s only like 6 episodes and season 2 coming out soon

Comet Le

I’ve been waiting for the reaction to this episode as it’s one of my favorites. I can’t wait for the reaction to the episode about the Yangtze River Dolphin. Every time I see that Orca with a bent fin I get emotional, the parallel between a caged wild creature and the client is incredibly sad. This kdrama is such a comfort drama for me as it’s educational, relatable, funny, sad, and overall entertaining. I love it.

Isabelle V.

Hey its my guy from D&P. New season is coming out this Friday too

LaTesha

Oh ok, thank you

VIBEZZ ONLYY

Yea, but season 1 is only Lupa's reaction, while season 2 is all of them. It's in the missing reaction link.

Void

This show is so good!!

varus ez

Yo anyone know if roshi watched the promised neverland?

VIBEZZ ONLYY

i think they're just commenting based on what they see in this episode. 😅

Karel

that's exactly what I do on my lunch break--watch drama episode reactions from my faves. It's my favorite way to spend the hour. <3

raeven b.

This episode is one of my least favorites, but with you guys reaction I really enjoyed it.

min

Love these early uploads. Gives me something to watch on my lunch break.

Don'tReadMyUsername

Bruh lawyers that just started aren't making bank like that. On top of that, they don't have the contract that makes them the official thing.

Stanley Labissiere

the male who kidnapped the kids is also in a kdrama called D.P , you guys should watch the trailer and think about watching!

mia

Y’all (the trio) should REALLY watch Succession. That is Grade A television drama right there

Sheraya san

A bit bothered by how much you judged Korean culture. I know it’s not meant maliciously, hopefully, just a lack of knowledge.

Dooly

this episode still makes me tear up even though i’ve rewatched the show like 5 times LOL thanks for the early update!

cami ً

This is my favorite episodes of attorney woo, i just love this case sm
