This series is basically a spinoff that was originally a prank but turned into its own series. It pulls a little from everything in the Natsu-verse including Tsukihime which is the progenitor of Fate, so basically vampires ( one of the masters is a vampire from Tsukihime ). You won't really get any of this otherwise this is basically fanservice for every type-moon franchise mashed into one.

The stuff from Tsukihime, FGO, and Apocrypha are mostly just details that don’t really matter that much towards the main story. In Babylonia, the story is the 7th arc from the gacha game and assumes you already have a decent foundation on things like Chaldea, singularities, etc. Just knowing what they know from Zero and SN isn’t enough. And I doubt they’d want to spend the time watching a mid movie just to get that info.

In every version of fate he always takes the title of El-Melloi from Lancer master in zero and become one of the most respected mages in the Clocktower. To give a quick explanation on how he gets the title, the younger sister on the original El-Molloi finds Waver to find out what happened to her brother and what was Waver doing after the grail war, she decides to give him the title of El- Melloi until she grows up into a age where she is suited for the title. Second, this dose not take after stay night (UBW and Heaven's Feel), we know the fourth grail war happened because Waver Velvet being know as someone who fought in the grail war but we don't know what happened to the fifth war so we don't know the holy grail was destroyed or not. Third, the servants classed as Rulers are summoned by the Holy Grail itself, tasked with governing over Grail Wars. The reason they weren't summoned in Zero and Stay night is because the holy grail was already corrupted from the third war so the holy grail saw everything was running as normal. Lastly, the man in the end credits was not Ruler, he is a mage that obtained true magic that at this day and age only the holy grail was thought was able to do. This magic allows him to view and interact with every version of the world, so when he was talking about a giant spider was about awake he was talking about a version of the world that was about to end.

Isn't the best by any means, but it's a fun watch, and it has Ruler in it, and it does explain what Ruler is and what role the class has in the HGW. Fate/Grand Order Babylonia gives you background on Enkidu and Gilgamesh, also shows a lot of other cool servants (though before that, if you intend on watching it eventually, you should probably watch FGO: First Order first, which introduces the mc's and sets the stage. You would be completely lost without it.

This grail in Fate strange Fake is a fake copy of the 3rd Holy Grail, the one prior to the one that Kiritsugu wanted (4th Holy Grail War). — A relic could be anything, even yourself. If the relic is related to a legend or hero, that hero is most likely to get communed. That knife Flat had, was a game prize and if I remember correctly from the LN, the game or the knife was associated with Jack the Ripper and Lord El-Melloi was recently got into that kind of games. — The old dude you saw at the end. He's Zelretch, he's not the Ruler nor a servant. You saw him in the 3rd Heaven's Feel movie, Illyasviel's flashback. He's one of the few mages that actually reached the Root (what every mage is trying to achieve by winning the Holy Grail). So Zelretch, a mage that reached the Root, masters “Second Magic” (remember Heaven's Feel was the name of the “Third Magic”). With the Second Magic, you can operate in different timelines and worlds; He can travel through any parallel word he wants. So here he was observing the timeline of Strange Fake and said it's not necessary to interfere with the timeline, BUT, he basically chose the “main character” of this timeline, that blond haired girl. The more you rewatch, the more you learn new things, because there's so many infodump happen that you certainly miss things. That isn't the problem, the problem is others basically "WATCH etc to fully understand etc-" or "if you just want etc without watching etc you'll be missing MAJOR details and events-" And I understand why too, it isn't a bad thing. But I can see why it would throw off so many people on watching fate in general. If they were to watch Babylonia without watching the first grand order movie (which I absolutely hated, the movie was sleep asf imo) I think they would be fine lol. Mind you I definitely don't understand everything that takes place in FGO. Maybe I'm wrong lol. If we get them to react to all of FGO I wouldn't be mad at it though.

It was also quick, but it's also called out why he's rational instead of like the other Berserker's that are summoned. Specifically the innate madness of Jack canceled out the madness of the Berserker class. Or as the show put it Minus plus Minus = a plus.

I love Babylonia, but just know you need to watch the movie first if you intend to watch it and that you’ll be missing several big events and plot points that are only in the mobile game, and are briefly mentioned in the series that may be difficult to understand

Yes, that teacher is Waver (master or rider) from Fate zero, he took the title of El-Melloi the II after the previous "El-Melloi" and his teacher, Kayneth Archibal (master of lancer) died, more details of this in the anime adaptation, "The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi." 2. The knife Flat has isn't actually a relic, but a toy Waver won, and he thought that by giving it to him it would make him forget the whole going to the Holy Grail War, that backfired sadly. 3. This ins't the same Holy Grail War as the one from Fuyuki Japan in Fate Zero, UBW, and Heaven's Feels. Waver took part in the Fourth war in Fujuki, and these dudes aren't participating in the same one, but stole the Grail System and used the blueprints from the Third war to make their own "Fake Holy Grail War" in the United States, Snowfield. It isn't a continuation, but a completely different war in another State. Making a counterfeit/imperfect version. 4. The servant called Ruler is someone who manifests in a Holy Grail War that's gotten way out of hand and needs straightening and supervision, think of them like the judge from Fake Zero but if they were a servant and had a ton of command spells of their own , more details in the anime adaptation, "Fate Apocrypha". 5. More detail of this in the anime adaptation, "Fate/Grand Order- Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia." 6. The old man by the end isn't ruler, but one of the most important characters in fate lore, "Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg", the man possesses the second magic, Kaleidoscope, able to interfere with parallel worlds. You may had seen a bit of him in the third movie from Heaven's Feel, when Shirou and Illya witness the creation of the Holy Grail System in Fuyuki with the 3 heads from the Matous, Tohsakas, Einzberns families and Kirchur there as a judge to officiate it.

As for the Old Man at the end, while his isn't Ruler, he is still a big deal.... in the greater lore. The only thing u need to know is that he's the same guy from Heaven's Feel in the Flashback that helped create the Holy Grail and Rin used his sword.

This shit got so much lore into it it's insane. Sequel to Fate/Stay Night and Hollow Ataraxia since it's in 2009 chronologically, just a different Parallel World. There's Tsukihime stuf, Dead Apostle and Dead Apostle Ancestors, they called out the Root right at the beggining of episode 0 which is supposed to be the main plot of Fate/Stay Night as a whole with the Third Magic, fucking Zelretch is part of Fate/Strange Fake, Caubac Alcatraz, Kara no Kyoukai stuff as well, the mysterious "protagonist of the story", her character as an interesting link with Hollow Ataraxia, ORT aka Type-Mercury, an Ultimate One of the Ort Cloud being mentionned as well. He appeared for the first time in Fate/Grand Order and was mentionned back in Hollow Ataraxia too, along with Primate Murder etc, and there's so much more stuff from all around the Nasuverse, it's great.

And while apocrypha doesn't affect this timeline, it does have some character information and story information that would help them. Such as they would understand what a ruler is from watching that. I am just saying it isn't absolutely necessary, but it wold definitely help them understand as much information won't be explained in this one, cause it was already explained in the other series.

I knew from time it was Enkidu, seeing Gil so happy to meet homeboy made me smile. They really are two sides of the same coin. Enkidu is the guy Gilgamesh said was his only friend back in the previous fate. I'm not sure who Enkidu was running from but given the plague doctor mask probably just "death" or "cancer" in servant form or something like that. I can't imagine anything less making Enkidu feel like he needs to run away when he's essentially on par with Gilgamesh. No spoilers just things to help clarify Just a few things to help with some understandable confusion(its been a minute and Fate/Nasuverse lore goes pretty deep) - The War with Kiritsugu and Rider and Gilgamesh and Waver in Fate/Zero was the 4th Holy Grail War - The war with Shirou and Archer and Rin and Gilgamesh again is the 5th Holy grail war a.k.a Fate/Stay Night and its 3 routes - Strange Fake takes places after the 5th holy grail war, its just currently unknown what route it is a following afterwards - The assassin here isn’t someone you’ve seen before but she is connected to them. Without an explicit specific artifact, whenever you summon a servant you’ll just kind of get a default/random one. For Assassin’s they have this white mask Assassin’s Creed type order that you’ve seen in Zero and Heaven’s Feel. Homegirl is apart of that order - Waver did order a toy but since the toy is somewhat associated with the idea of Jack the Ripper it pretty much defaulted to the Berserker version with no identity - Ruler class is literally just the Discord Mod for the HGW that comes in when shit don’t look right(see Apocrypha for more) - Old boy at the end is not the Ruler. That is Zelretch(you’ve seen him in HF 3). Just know he’s an uber mega powerful mage, master of the 2nd magic - The reason the Grail war keeps happening(in Japan at least) is just because the last 4 or 5 times, shit keeps getting fucked up so no one has ever ACTUALLY claimed it and the families just set it up for next person in the bloodline to do it - Enkidu is Gilgamesh’s homeboy and basically they had a really cute Pixar/Disney type backstory together(see Babylonia for more on that as well) - Enkidu doesn’t have a Gender. It/They are quite literally a weapon created by the Gods of Gilgamesh’s time to go and fuck Gilgamesh up because he was talkin too much “fuck the gods” shit. They just have taken the look and form of the girl they first met when they landed on Earth - Gil named his reality breaking sword after Enkidu. Enkidu’s weapon identity goes by the name of Enuma Eilish and it’s basically the weapon of the Earth in the form of spears and chains. Mordred, Jeanne and Astolfo are super popular, and while most of the other Servants aren't as popular, there's a lot of other likeable ones among the cast like (Fran, Jack, Achilles, and Chiron). while the concept of Holy Grail War in this fate was basically being a 14-Servant deathmatch was cool to me, it also made it really hard to cover every single servant and to make sure they all got developed. I personally don’t know much about him, but from what others have said, he’s a big figure in the general Nasuverse including Tsukihime and Fate.

Not sure if you noticed but he actually did show up in UBW at the end when Shirou and Rin are studying in the Clock Tower. He became a professor and he got his own magic detective show called The Case Files of El-Melloi.

It has a pretty interesting interaction with Strange Fake (Not a prequel or anything but once Strange Fake starts, you'll pick up some things ala watching spiderman and noticing all the comic book references).

A lot of things talked about in this Special tie very well with that series while remaining stand-alone. Plus it has great action sequences. That being said, I do not recommend that you watch Babylonia anime that some are suggesting, it requires WAY too much fore knowledge from the gacha game it originates from. It does contain a bit of context for Enkidu and Gilgamesh's relationship, but I don't think its worth watching the series for it.

But strange fake is the closest thing to a sequel to fate stay night , and fate zero which to the main trilogy you guys watched. I won’t be explaining strange fake obscure grail war all that will be explained once the anime comes out. But I will answer the first question you had in the beginning of the video about how the grails keep happening. Around 800AD there was a mage who had the third true magic called heaven feels the power to materialize souls. This mage disappeared with out passing the secret of his magic to his disciples. The Einzbern family tried to replicate the sec magic but they failed. So the Einzbern created the first homunculus name Justeaze. The Einzbern wanted her to replicate the third magic for them. But Justeaze never succeeded on her own. She eventually became Allie’s with the other two mage family which are the Tohsaka, and The Mato they had the same goal to reach the swirl of the root to obtain one of the true magic. To reach the root they needed a method to bypass the counter force so they created the holy grail ritual. The location to perform this ritual is at fuyuki, Japan. Japan has enormous spiritual ley lines which is must suitable to conduct a grail war. In 1800AD the first holy grail war began. From then on the holy grail ritual began to operate every 60 years. The fourth grail was which was on fate zero started in 1994 and the one in fate stay night started in 2004. Strang fake grail dates in 2009. In summation the original purpose that stated the holy grail ritual is merely a method that the three founding families created to bypass the counter force and reach the root. There is still a lot of detail I missed purposely to this event but I don’t want to make this longer than it already is but hopefully this helps a little for the question about how the wars keep happening. Side note fate strange fake has a lot of plot points from different works the whole thing about the Ruler and the relationships Gil and Enkidu and Waver being titled as lord el melloi are all in different series that I do encourage you to try out. The concept of the Ruler class will be in Fate apocrypha. Gilgamesh and Enkidu back story is in Fate Grand Order. Waver becoming titled as lord el melloi is on the case files of lord el melloi. There is also other works from the same author that does fate and yes they are all connected to fate. The other works are called Kara no kyokai/ The garden of sinners, and Tsukihime.

If y'all want something standalone, Fate/Apocrypha is a great go. If you want something with more calls to other works, Fate Grand Order is a fun one. There would be the first movie, First Order, which explains the basics of the premise, and then there's two major arcs to choose: Camelot or Babylonia. They're the 6th and 7th singularities respectivily from the game, showing the story on what happens in both.

If you want more heat yall should check out Fate/Grand Order Babylonia, one of the funnest shows I've seen in a min and fully goes into the relationship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Also 1) the war doesn't HAVE to keep happening the Mages just keep starting the war so they can get the wish, this one is 100% voluntary and 2) yes thats Riders master from fate/Zero, Riders dream was to conquer the world again which is what Flat said. he even has a whole spinoff series, They called him Waver but his actual name was El-Melloi. Also you guys saw him in the last ep of Fate/Stay Night walking past Shirou when they were in England

Flat is like his best student. If you want to know more about him specifically there is a whole show called "EL Melloi Case Files" that goes over everything about his life from right after the war to now. Like how he became a teacher and got so much better with magic etc... It's actually a really good mystery show, but there isn't really much action it's more of a detective show, like "Sherlock Holmes but with magic"

If you ever get around to it, Fate Apocrypha will give you more context on that. But in short, it’s a non-standard servant class that is summoned by the Grail itself when something in the war is out of the ordinary. In the case of Apocrypha, the war was fought between two teams of 7 servants each, so Ruler was summoned as a mediator. I may be wrong since I’m not super knowledgeable on the series, but I believe the gray haired girl was mentioning Ruler potentially showing because of the nature of the grail war being “fake”. The conditions for being a ruler are typically someone who has no desire for the grail, such as Christian saints.

If you remember in Fate Zero Gilgamesh said he only had one friend and couldn't take others, that is Enkidu. Enkidu is also genderless because he was made from clay from the God's. But he does go by male pronouns also.

Also you guys might not know about "Rulers" but they are also a class in the grail war and are only summoned when lots of servants are summoned, they play the neutral party and have command spells that can control other servants, while also being OP af, in order to take down any servant if they must.

My only fear is the knowledge that this absolutely cannot be finished in a single season so we may be waiting a long time for the anime to be completed. Especially given that the light novels aren’t done yet either and we have no idea how long those will go.
