Ichigo could see spirits as a child but he didn’t have any active powers. Also the selection specifically targeted “impure” Quincy’s, so it takes their Quincy powers from them (also Ichigo’s mother’s Hollow infection was being negated by her spiritual link with Ichigo’s dad).

Don't forget this is technically 1 season divided into 4 cours, they only have the IP for the TYBW arc. We don't know if and when CFYOW, and possibly WDKALY, will get the green lit for adaptation. If they do get it, then they will most likely tease it at the end of cour 4.

Ichigo's Quincy powers didn't surface until he kept getting in contact with that Jail Quincy's power so until then there was no power to take from him. Uryu, his mom, and Ichigo's mom a were chosen because they didn't have high quality Quincy blood and Uryu ended up surviving it.

It sounds like they’re rushing it but action scenes are fast paced.

2023-07-10 22:42:26 +0000 UTCAlright so, No spoilers for anime onlys but manga readers knew going into this that it was going to be an action heavy part, easily the most action packed one of this whole arc which seems to be starting in full force next week for the remainder of this whole cour but I think I can speak for all of us when we weren’t expecting this much Lore + anime additional scenes enhancing the manga by adding context instead of being left ambiguous, even with a dialogue heavy episode which makes sense. Love the special effects that are seamlessly blended with the 2D art. In this 1 episode we got 1. Yhwach’s Birth and Holy Worship sequence 2. Uryu visiting a graveyard of all mixed blooded Quincy to pay respects to his late mother. 3. Ichigo, Rukia and Renji’s interactions with Hyosube (The long black beard, Squad 0 captain) 4. A clearer explanation from Shunsui about why and how Ichigo might not be able to return to the world of the living to his friends due to his new power 5. Showing Byakuya healed and recuperated having a new purpose/mindset This is looking like it’ll be a new experience for all Bleach fans as if we’re all anime onlys.
