TRUE, but hear me out... He can still use a sword with that arm, but he still might not be EFFECTIVE enough to cut through demon necks. It's kinda like the Blaster stance in Jedi Survivor (SPOILERS!!!). He can still weaken them from afar with bullets then go in to finish them off, but probably couldn't defend himself properly in a fight with the sword alone. Either way, It was a funny thought if nothing else! 😇

No, Love Hashira's name is not Can-jury. There is no "can" like tuna cans in Japanese. It's Kanroji (Kahn-roh-jee). The Japanese do not speak with southern American accents. Likewise, there is no "tan," like getting a tan. That's an English word, not Japanese. The main character's name is Tanjiro (Tahn-jee-roh). They've been saying his name loud and clear for y'all for a little over 2 seasons. It's really impressive that someone STILL manages to absolutely butcher the name. It's actually weird af hearing normal English, and suddenly a southern accent appears out of nowhere in a failed attempt at pronouncing a Japanese name.

While this is a fair thing to question and assume it's shounen doing it's thing, I feel like it's made a little (and I mean little!) more clearer in the manga. // I do wanna point out, it's not that Tanjirou didn't know Upper 4 wasn't a demon, he and Tokito both didn't realize the presence they felt coming to open the door was a demon until they literally saw him. And even then, they hesitated because they didn't see numbers in it eyes (Tanjiro thinking "what's that? A demon" isn't in the manga, it's actually narrated, lol). // Tanjirou's experience with fighting an Upper Moon and surviving has definitely given him experience that many don't have. The mere fact that he understood just cutting it's head off doesn't mean it's dead and there are likely special conditions to kill it is a testament to that. // When Tokito cut Hatengu's head off, Tanjiro saw that it split. One grew a body from the head, the other grew a head from the body. They were both younger and stronger looking as well. This was different from Gyutaro rising out of Daki's body. // When Genya shot off the Upper 4's heads in rapid succession, Tanjirou saw they weren't guarding their necks like most demons do (hell, Hatengu wasn't trying all that much to guard). Even the Upper 6 siblings were protective of their necks. The Upper 4 demons made no attempt to guard them. Which lead him to think, they want us to cut off their heads....why would they want that? What happened not too long ago? A body grew from a head and head grew from a body after being cut?....It must divide into multiple demons! It has to be killed a different way. // So, yes, while even I do think this is really fast and probably shounen hijinks to a degree, it's probably meant to be a testament to the experience he gained fighting an Upper Rank. It literally boost your skills and deduction as a demon slayer like THAT. Sorry this was long. :P

Tanjiro is a smart guy and when you add in his experience with Upper Moons he actually made a fairly simple deduction. When he saw Hantengu he recognized that he was an Upper Moon but got confused and ended up questioning whether that was true since Hantengu seemed to be very afraid and wasn't fighting back. In Tanjiro's experience that is not the norm for an Upper Moon. Then Hantengu was easily decapitated and split into 2 younger looking demons that were obviously much stronger as one of them blew Tokito away and the other electrocuted Tanjiro til he was about to lose consciousness. He could probably also sense that they were stronger as well. Then Genya showed up and shot the 2 decapitating one of them and nearly decapitating the other. When you combine the fact that Tanjiro knows that decapitating an Upper Moon might not kill them + Tanjiro seeing with his own eyes that decapitating Hantengu produced 2 younger stronger demons + Hantengu not even trying to fight back + Genya easily pulling up on them and decapitating one demon who saw the bullet coming towards him before impact and didn't try to dodge when an Upper Moon should have the speed to do so + easily nearly decapitating the other demon + the demon he nearly decapitated being delighted by Genya's attack it's pretty easy to come to the conclusion that the demons are allowing themselves to be decapitated and that doing so would just repeat what Tanjiro has already seen in creating more demons that are younger and stronger than the original Hantengu.

Given we know that wisteria is poisonous to demons, they need to start carrying some pocket wisteria, grind that shit up into a powder and just toss that shit into their face when they get close so they inhale/absorb it, easy win. Or since gunpowder and explosives are clearly canon and exist in thus universe, nichirin IEDS. Explosives with nichirin ball bearings inside that are coated in wisteria poison. Gotta start getting more creative then swords vs enemies that can hit you with an F5 tornado, sonic waves, or summon undodgable lightning. Great episode, but I'm a bit confused. How did Tanjiro go from wondering whether Upper 4 was a demon to suddenly knowing that slashing them would create younger, stronger demons a second time? It's not a bad theory, but Tanjiro jumping to that conclusion seems a bit forced. Prior to Genya showing up, they'd only cut the demon once, so it seems premature for him to make such an assessment mid-battle. Unless I'm missing something, Tanjiro should have had no way of knowing that the separation process would repeat. Did the anime skip something, or is this a "don't ask questions, it's a shonen series" moment?
