One of my favorite moments from any manga ever with the abrupt switch in tone combined with boichis hyper detailed artwork. I fully expected to be let down but they nailed it with the sound design and pacing. So unsettling.

That's at least more propable than a person that had like a mechanism for thawing out as soon as radio signals start somewhere. Also, the only way for the petrification to be working as it is portrayed in this show without going into fantasy would be nanobots or something along those lines.

It feels kinda weird to say this after years of overkill from Naruto and Bleach, but I almost wish the Dr. Stone anime had MORE of these (brief) flashbacks... or perhaps a different form of visual aid to serve as a reminder of previous inventions. If we're not following road maps anymore, it'd be helpful to spend a few seconds looking at a diagram outlining the major components. Something like... Aquired: Motor Boat - Engine from refrigerator - Glass from glasses

Just to make a hot air balloon, like 10 different inventions and new products were made in the process. And the hot air balloon was just an invention for an even bigger goal too! With this many different shit being made, i cant blame the author for not breaking the process down COMPLETELY for each one. There's still a story that needs telling.

It only gets more absurd later with the implied time skips.

The road maps before was because they had to acquire a bunch of things and make a bunch of things to well make more things. However now they already have all the things to make new things, so they don't really need to find new things and therefore no road map.

There's no more road maps like season 1, now it's acquire the hard part (in this episode oil) and jump forward weeks, months, years or however long it takes really to the project being done. It's never really addressed, you're expected to remember things they've built in the past, and spot them in new builds. examples this episode: the motor boat took the glass from the glasses, plus the engine from the car and added oil to make. the radio beacon took all the things from building a the phone and amplified it
