It’s a matter of modification as he says, essentially he can adapt and change his Zanpakuto. He has already revealed when he fought Szayelaporro that he modified is Bankai to self destruct and return to its sealed form if it was ever used against him. So in essence he removed the weakness of a broken Bankai through experimentation and modification rather than the only actual Bankai exception which is Kokujo Tengen Myoo, which does technically break and get destroyed however because the damage is shared with Sajin it also shares in Sajin’s ability to heal. They missed things out in his explanation about other Bankai’s being broken like how Renji’s is now shorter in length after having some of its bones destroyed or how Ikkaku’s was superficially repaired to look the same but is now far weaker than it once was and will never be as powerful again.

I think when it comes to Mayuri's Bankai and Mayuri himself, if his bankai is damaged in anyway, there's nothing he can do about it, but it doesn't mean he can't perform experiments and surgeries on it since it does seem like an organic being that manifests from it. Because it's an organic thing, he can do whatever he wants thanks to his expertise unlike other Captains who don't have the knowledge to do so. If that makes sense. tldr version; He's crazy enough to work around a Bankai's flaws by doing science and surgery on it to "fix" it in a way and nobody else can do it because they aren't Mayuri.

I could be mistaken, but I think Roshi was talking about how random it was for Ginjo to just suddenly appear in that moment, not that his being in Soul Society is random. The scene at Kukaku's place seems rushed in the anime, so it feels more "random" than it did in the manga. In the manga, that scene is about 5 pages long with 25ish panels, most of which are dialogue heavy. In the anime, the scene is just over a minute long.

For those that never read, some content was skipped in the anime that would fix glaring issues with other people's bankai's being broken previously. Ikkaku's bankai was superficially fixed, but it's not as strong as it used to be Renji's bankai has been broken since his fight with Byakuya, and doesn't extend as far as it used to Komamura is the only exception, because while he takes damage when it takes damage, when he heals, it heals

As for your comment about adapting 4 - 5 chapters per episode, I think that works well depending on the circumstances. When a chapter consists of fast paced fighting, includes panels with little or no dialogue, and focuses on one or two scenes (instead of bouncing around like a shounen anime from the early 2000's), I think 4 - 5 chapters per episode is reasonable. When a chapter features slice-of-slice down time, includes heavy dialogue or infodumps, and shows us multiple scenes (which changes our focus as we move from one setting to the next), I think 2 - 3 chapters is better. Of course, it also depends on the number of anime original scenes and padding that an episode might utilize. I was hoping for more time to mourn the devastation of Soul Society's big loss, but I suppose they don't have that luxury.

Also considering he was chosen to ascent to the zero division because of his healing prowess no one has a reason to doubt that he is more capable of a healer. So something they skipped over regarding the broken Bankai, in the entire Soul Society there is only 1 exception to being able to repair a broken Bankai. Sajin’s Bankai can actually take huge amounts of damage and be repaired however the damage it receives is also dealt to Sajin himself so it’s not a great trade off. Also we saw Ikkaku’s Bankai being broken in his fight with the arrancar, while it was superficially fixed to have the same appearance his Bankai is now much weaker than it originally was and will never grow to the same potential it once had.

It will, they’re recontextualizing/rearranging many things to make it better refined than it ever was in the manga. As for the pacing, It was said that this arc would be 4 chapters per episode but for the most part it’s been 5 chapters much like JoJos with their rapid pacing.

Episode 8 was probably my least favorite episode of Bleach TYBW so far, and I'm really disappointed to say that. Last week's episode was easily my favorite, and the week before that was pretty decent, so maybe I'm being too harsh? Probably. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the episode, but I think it had way more potential. Unfortunately, seasonal anime have a limited schedule. Too much happened in a single episode, even by TYBW standards, and I think the reveals suffered as a result. Perhaps my nostalgia goggles are on too tight, because I remember these chapters fondly (especially the scene with Ganju and the Fullbringers), but today's episode just didn't give me that same feeling. Anime-only fans will still be excited by the reveals (Squad Zero, that "mysterious" voice behind Urahara, and the Ganju scene), but the pacing holds this episode back (in my opinion). If these manga chapters had been adapted as part of the original anime, we would have easily seen 2.5 or 3 episodes (especially if they used Arrancar Arc pacing).  Considering how much information was dropped, TYBW should have adapted these chapters into 1.5 or 2 episodes.  The skipped manga content was mostly humor and unimportant dialogue, similar to previous episodes, but the anime actually omitted some semi-important stuff this time.  Some of it might show up next week, but I'm not holding my breath.

Big disagree here. It must have been a long ass time since u read the manga cuz tons of stuff was added and expanded. We got to see the old 13 and how they fought, Young Yama vs Young Yhwach, lots of Ishida added content, lots of Chojiro added content, and we actually saw the interaction between Aizen and Yhwach. Kubo has a lot to fix for the war arc but he doing a really good job so far.

@Infinity That’s false as everything wasn’t rushed until deep into the 2nd invasion or rather the climax along with the ending, everything before that flowed exactly how it needed to. Regardless many things have been added in already so that will most likely be even more add-ons with the overall are being flushed out compared to the manga, however don’t expect the end result to change necessarily, just made much better and refined.

@Chris Barnes, There were people up in arms about it with the thought that nobody is suppose to recognize that its her because nobody has seen her with her hair like that nor knew she was in the OG Gotei 13 ( since they never elaborated on her backgrounds other than her being a scary, motherly medical healer and if the anime did say she was in the OG 13, then I doubt anyone remembers because they never bring it up much ). So people considered Roshi calling her out a spoiler, when in reality it wasn't. My point is, if you couldn't figure it out from the obvious physical identity they purposely showed and others did, then it ain't a spoiler, it's just them having it fly over their heads when they shoulda known. Why Ginjo would be random Roshi? They explained why they there (because their souls went to the Soul Socity after the last arc. I kinda expected them to have more of a "excited" reaction since they drop some new lore here for Sheera and Lupa and a longer discussion video but oh well it's totally fine so I'm not complain about it like that.
