And here's the first introduction to Little Chuck. Big revelation - he's not actually Big's biological son, although they form a father-son bond.
Notes: Things have been hectic due to finishing off work for a graphic novel anthology. I managed to redraw some page from an old non-canon comic of INA and turned it into a nice little short story explaining more about Little Chuck's background.

Here's another cartoon from the big guy. In the ooooold versions of the SFS comic, Skollina's ex-wife was a bit flat as a character and very unpleasant.
So in Iron Nail Afternoon, I've reworked her. Penelope (or Lope, for short) is a pretty tough character, considerably older than Skolli and rather strict. She treated Skolli in exactly the same way that she treated their kids. Unsurprisingly, the marriage didn't last.

Jekkel was an elite supernatural soldier at one point so as far as he's concerned, Sed is just a rich boy playing at being Sheriff.
Notes: When Jekkel is ill*, he's disorientated and dependent and can barely string a sentence together. But when he's well, he's a bit of a control freak with a superiority complex. And he never acts very grateful that Sed took care of him back during his illness.
Probably because Jekkel doesn't like acknowledging that he was ...

Originally, I was going to have Skolli travel to Iron Nail with Rachel (I tried that on a prototype page.) But it just works so much better if Skolli ferries people around on a little flying boat instead. Gives Skolli a job on Skin Isles and gives Skolli and Hedwig a nice chance to interact like this.

An alternative version of page 10 of the Prequel. I actually prefer this version since I like the idea of a diner full of magical creatures. In this version, the last panel features some fun background characters such as Vanessa, the OC of longtime reader BBB35 (we'll be seeing more non-speaking cameos of Vanessa every so often) and Alfie, a titular character from the erotic comic of the same name.
