Most of the females in bleach have no fanservice if you don't count "revealing attire" as fan service. Doubly so if you're going to backpedal and goalpost move that "filler doesn't count" then the fanservice drops immensely. Going by that definition the only real fan service in the show is from Inoue, Rangiku, Kukaku, Yoruichi and Nel. Practically everyone else comes down to "revealing attire" or exposed skin/cleavage or it happens in filler which "doesn't count."

Her Kenpachi persona is so scary! Roshi said it straight up demon! And to Sheera’s point about why one of them has to die is I think when these two fight the murder and bloodlust takes over and it’s basically impossible to get them to stop. And it’s also probably the most effective way to draw out Zaraki’s power is to go all out! I’m ready for it!

In the Arrancar arc, he was the one handling the strongest Espada in Stark. And they gave you the Yamamoto flashback with Shunsui in it during the Yamamoto/Yhwach fight to remind you that Shunsui has been the guy. Next captain was always gonna be him or Ukitake.

I'm honestly surprised that Kubo never added something like, "Those killed by a Quincy cannot be revived by Orihime's powers, as Quincy powers eliminate the soul rather than purifying it" to the series lore. Instead, we're expected to ignore the fact that her power could literally undo most of the damage from this war... but she doesn't get involved.

He's currently one of the oldest captains, and see as one of the strongest. He fights dirty as was shown when he fought Coyote Starkk, and when everyone else loss to he came back and finished it. Was acknowledged by aizen as well

Those three specifically has be noted that their bankai cannot be used around others due to the facts that they can harm whatever realm they are in and the people around which is why we have never seen them use theirs. Meaning that he is extremely powerful. We also can see he is very wise and they have been highlighting specifically his relationship with Captain Yamamoto. Hence, Shunsui is the best choice for the new Head Captain

She wanted to walk in front of Ichigo in the space between the worlds so that she could create a better path since Ichigo is terrible at controlling Reiatsu. Also another moment would be when the group of Arrancars that fought Rukia ran into Unohana and immediately retreated saying "A sensible captain has appeared before us".

He's been around and was personally trained under him along with Ukitake, so he's basically Yamamoto's son. Ukitake, even though he's seasoned too, isn't qualified because of his obvious illness, but also he's just too big of a sweat heart. Shunsui, despite how lazy and pervy he comes off, is a man who gets shit done when it's serious. Remember, he doesn't believe in the aesthetic of honor when it comes to fighting. He'll play tricks, cause drama, do whatever to get what needs to be done, done and I respect him for it. I remember in the Espada/Arranca/Fake Kadakura arc. he back stabbed one of the Arrancar ( the wolf guy with the guns ) and his own comrades tried to drag him for being dishonorable for butting into a fight that wasn't his and Shunsui said he didn't give a fuck. That guy was the enemy and he'll do ANYTHING to win against the enemy. Right now he's doing it. Tricking Kenpachi, forcing him to level the fuck up since he was lacking in that invasion and he's gonna sacrifice Unohana's life to do it. Damn.

She does look like a goddamn monster and in the past there was maybe one or two jokes involving Unohana making a "face" at people who piss her off. I certainly remember one time she did it at Ichigo when she was alone with him at some point being escorted somewhere. I think he was lacking in common sense when he was making a remark about her age, he turned around to look at her and he freaked the fuck out and shut his mouth. I remember they never revealed her expression to his comment and then they cut back to her having that usual mother smile. I'm assuming her "Kenpachi" face is the face she makes that has people so terrified to slip up in conversation with her.

I think they chose Shunsui because along with Ukitake, he was one of Yamamoto’s apprentices and he basically viewed them like sons so of course if anybody could replace Yamamoto, it would be one of them. Ukitake wouldn’t be able to do it on account of his chronic illness. Plus we don’t really know Shunsui’s real power yet.

Also Kenpachi is a title, there can only be 1 for each generation. Unohana relinquished that title but usually the current Kenpachi kills the previous one to claim the title of “the strongest”. Thats why Shunsui said if they cross swords, its not gonna be just a sword lesson, they are fighting to kill each other for supremacy. Whoever comes out on top will be stronger for it

It was just two literal demons trading blows and blood. And I absolutely gotta give props to the animation team for the linework and color grading, making a dark scene still very visible and understood. As well as Unohana's VA Aya Hisakawa, for bringing a rough edge to her usually motherly and loving voice. Absolutely terrifying but beautiful.

Realistically, the only other options would’ve been Unohana or Ukitake. Unohana would not have been a good fit, as taking her away from her position as 4th Company Captain would heavily impact the effectiveness of the Healing Corps, plus I doubt Central 46 would want a former criminal to lead the 13 Court Guard Squads, and Ukitake has his health issues which would limit him from a completely different angle, which means the best pick remained Kyoraku.

I don’t remember how exactly he was appointed either (if it was Yama or the people in the court) but it makes sense with him being one of the oldest captains, a student of Yama, and also having all the skills needed for head captain especially thinking decision making being able to get folks together and lead lol. Her fake name, Retsu, means "violent" or fierce", hinting at her true nature. 3. In the SS arc, she is the first Captain to notice something is off about Aizen's death (even while under complete hypnosis). When she arrives in the Underground Meeting assembly area after Aizen waxes Hitsugaya, he acknowledges that he thought she would be showing up soon. 4. If you recall Kenpachi's backstory flashback from the SS arc, he tells Yachiru that he named her after the one person he admires and respects. The First Kenpachi, Unohana Yachiru is that person. 5. Even from the first databooks, her total combat ability score was 540/600, which is second only to Aizen and Yamamoto who both have a total of 560/600. Her special ability was also listed as kenjutsu, NOT healing.
