“That must mean you are a good person. When I realized that… I also realized the weight of the sins I had committed. That’s all.”

I could feel that she was completely different from before. Perhaps her nature was always good, but she had simply gone astray because of misguided values.

‘…I don’t know.’

My mind felt tangled. Nermedia’s attitude had already softened my resentment and desire for revenge significantly. Yet, was it right to simply forgive her?

She had betrayed me, a hero, and deceived an entire kingdom. Regardless of my feelings, shouldn’t she continue to feel the weight of her sins?

Unable to find an answer, I got out of bed and silently cast a cleansing spell.

The bed and room become spotless, as if nothing had happened. Without acknowledging Nermedia’s amazed gaze, I went to the bathroom and washed myself.

“I’m leaving.”

“Yes. Please come back whenever you feel like it.”

I cleaned myself and the room, but I left Nermedia’s quarters without saying anything. My heart was still heavy with unresolved doubts.

[POV Change]

One night, while our peaceful daily life was continuing, Agnes was sitting at her desk. She was looking more serious than ever. She was completely lost in thought.

[POV Change]

In Elora, there stood a colossal tree known as the World Tree.

It was a being that spread sacred and pure energy through invisible roots, reaching every forest across the land.

If the now-vanished goddess Louis Noir was considered Elora’s, then the World Tree was a gift she had left behind for her descendants.

Thanks to this blessing, Elora’s forests had always thrived in lush abundance. But the World Tree offered more than just greenery.

It also aided elves in continuing their lineage.

Yet, since no one could predict when the World Tree’s call would come, many elves spent their days in patient anticipation. Because it was such a joyous event, it was natural for Agnes to harbor her own concerns.

‘Why… no matter what I do, I’m not going to have with Dayke, am I?’

About a month had passed since Dayke had received Iril’s request and visited Nermedia’s room.

Though she had never spoken of it openly, this was not the first time Agnes had asked herself this question. She had shared countless intimate moments with Dayke before.

‘The blessing of the World Tree is wonderful, but I still want Dayke. Is there some way? Maybe there’s a method to increase the chances…’

‘After all… is my only option to get mana as often as possible?’

So, she went to bed quietly, wishing that good news might greet her in the morning.

To my surprise, the number of magic speels had grown to five, and about a month had passed.

Until then, life had been nothing but peaceful.

There were no threats against the kingdom, and no conflicts arose among magic, who all got along well. Each day was pleasant, both physically and mentally.

‘Tonight, it’s Agnes, isn’t it?’

Of course, the final choice was mine, but since I loved all of them, there was no reason to refuse anyone who came.

Knock…! Knock…!

“Oh, come in.”

The door opened slowly, and Agnes stepped inside the room.

Her face was flushed, half from anticipation and half from embarrassment.

“Dayke, it’s okay if we start right away, isn’t it?”

“But since there hasn’t been any news, maybe it’s just my greed. I think I’ll have to let it go.”

Even though she tried to hide it, I could hear the sadness in her voice. Knowing that her pain came from something I had caused through the app made me feel guilty.

To ease her heart and seek her forgiveness, I decided it was time to reveal the truth I had been keeping from her.

“Agnes. Actually, there’s something I haven’t told you…”

Agnes sat up. She was sensing something serious in my tone.

As I looked into her beautifully shining amber eyes, I spoke with care.

“The reason is because of me.”

We moved to a spot with a beautiful view of the city. It was a hilly area that overlooked the panorama below.

Actually, it was more of a steep slope, and it had taken us several tens of minutes by car to reach it.

Anyway, Ayaka leaned against an old wooden fence at that scenic spot, her expression slightly troubled as she looked out at the view.

“So~ where should I start the story?”

“From the beginning, if possible.”

If she started from the middle, I wouldn’t be able to understand anything.

Ayaka nodded at my answer. Her eyes were distant, as if she were recalling something buried deep in her memory.

Enjoy!!
