The Kiella arc is finished.
Here is the sneek peek of the chapters…
I was helplessly in response to my surprise attack.
Kiella lost her balance for a moment and tumbled into my arms.
It was an ecstatic feeling I could never grow tired of, even after everything we did last night.
I couldn’t find the words to describe it, but I felt as if I could experience this endlessly, for the rest of my life, and never grow weary.
“Oh my, Kiella and the Hero!”
When we finished getting ready and stepped out of the room, the innkeeper, who was cleaning the hallway, greeted us brightly.
“Are you planning to head back already? It’s been so long since you’ve been here. It would be nice if you could take a little time to rest.”
“I wish I could, but I’m busy with work. I’m sorry.”
Just like when she used to be the lord, Kiella smiled kindly. The innkeeper then glanced around and leaned in slightly.
“I didn’t tell anyone about yesterday, so don’t worry.”
“Yes?”
“And next time you both visit, please contact me in advance. I’ll decorate the room specially for you.”
“No, that’s really not necessary…!”
Kiella’s face turned as red as it had been when she was caught talking to herself earlier.
She was unable to handle her embarrassment, so she quickly said goodbye and hurried out of the inn with me.
“…”
After a while, we walked side by side along the path leading back to the kingdom.
Since Lake Village was only about thirty minutes away, I decided to take it easy and walk at a relaxed pace.
As I continued forward, I noticed Kiella walking silently beside me, lost in thought.
“Kiella.”
“…Yes? What is it?”
“What are you thinking about with such a serious face?”
“Just…”
Her voice trailed off, and after a brief pause, she finally continued in a quiet tone.
“I was just thinking… I once banished Ruina. And now, here I am… in a relationship like this with you.”
There was a faint heaviness in her voice, and a trace of guilt was hidden within her words.
Since I already knew about the conversation she had with Ruina at the inn, I understood what was weighing on her mind. Still, I deliberately responded as if it were nothing serious.
“That’s okay. The reason you made that decision back then was because of Nermedia.”
At that time, Nermedia had a personality that would not forgive even her allies if they disobeyed her.
If Kiella had been able to make her own choices without external pressure, the outcomes of her decisions might have been very different.
“I heard you decided to reconcile with Ruina. You don’t need to worry about that anymore.”
“…Thank you, Dayke, for saying that.”
Fortunately, her expression lightened as if she were comforted by my words.
With her mood softened, she began to engage in small talk occasionally. After a week, we returned to the castle together.
Agnes and Rize, and even Fine and Iril, were together. I had gathered all of them into one room and introduced them to Kiella.
The most enthusiastic reaction came from Iril, Kiella’s love-story partner.
“Oh, Kiella? That’s amazing! I was actually wondering why you didn’t date Dayke sooner. Congratulations, Kiella!”
Kiella responded shyly to the Queen, who was holding both of her High Justice’s hands and bouncing around as if it were her own personal celebration.
“Thank you, Queen.”
“Huh? No, that’s a bit…”
Seeing Kiella flustered, Agnes spoke up this time.
“I’ve been waiting for you, to be honest, Kiella. Although I didn’t contribute anything, I am feeling proud. Congratulations.”
Kiella smiled as Rize added her words.
“Miss Kiella!”
“Hmm?”
Kiella turned toward the bold voice coming from one side.
Fine, much smaller than Rize, looked up with an excited expression.
“Hi! I-I’m sorry!”
When Kiella raised her hand, a startled Fine hid behind Rize.
“I just said it because I was happy, thinking I could become friends with the Supreme Court Justice! It’s fine for me to be your junior!”
“Kiella, why are you scaring her?”
Kiella was embarrassed by Rize’s words. So she lowered her hand.
Kiella couldn’t finish her sentence because of the injustice of the situation.
Watching that scene, a happy smile naturally spread across my face.
The night Dayke and Kiella returned from their vacation, Iril was in Nermedia’s room. She was talking excitedly about the events of the day.
“You know that Kiella also became magician? She was so happy when she heard about it!”
“That’s really wonderful.”
“I’ve been so happy lately thanks to Dayke. I feel like I can focus on my work smoothly because I have him. Hehe.”
Iril was still worried. So she asked cautiously.
“Do you ever feel like you want to be magician? I hope you feel the same way I do.”
“Iril, I’ve told you. I feel more at peace with my life now.”
Nermedia's words were honest and unwavering. She showed no hesitation or lies.
Eventually, Iril could not think of anything else to say.
“You say you love me! Or are you saying that qualifications and all that are just excuses, and you actually don’t like me?”
But that wasn’t enough for me to back down.
Even though she didn’t understand me fully, she repeated what I said and looked straight into my eyes.
