Important Store+Book Updates

Some important updates: my store is currently managed by White Squirrel , a fulfillment company based in the U.S., and they’ve recently let me know of the following:
1. USPS shipments to Canada is no longer available due to ongoing Canada Post strikes
UPS Standard is still available for Canadian customers, as well as FedEx and DHL services. To support postal workers on strike, please visit the link here.
2. Shipping to the EU will end on December 19 until further notice
Due to the newest GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation), which actually goes into effect today on December 13, White Squirrel has laid out a plan in which orders to EU countries will continue to be fulfilled until White Squirrel offices close on December 19, as none of our packages currently qualify as “new products” that need to be met by the updated regulations.
From December 19 onwards, my store will unfortunately be closed to EU orders until the guidelines, regulations, and process regarding the GPSR is explained better for small businesses.
3. Store will be closed from December 20th-January 1st
No orders will be fulfilled during this time as White Squirrel offices are closed during the holidays!

I apologize for any inconvenience this is causing, and I worry how things may get worse after January 20. It had been my objective to get Take Off books done and ready prior to that date, but things were put on hold as I had difficulty wrapping things up in the latter half of 2024, as reception to later chapters of the story brought a lot of stress and to be honest sadness in me that I questioned if there was a purpose in making the physical books. But I’ve had time to reflect and I know what I’m working towards, I just hope that everything will be worth the wait and that it will be accessible to everyone, no matter where.
That is all for now and any updates I will be relaying them here and likely on my instagram. I’m also on bluesky but still learning to be more active…!

I'm similar to Bee I'm a bl fan so I'm ok with angst miscommunication. It's part and parcel, I enjoy finding out where it goes next. It's about getting it, it making sense it's no to put us through a ride of stress it's development. I'm excited to see how it goes, personally it feels better to have gone along with them. Everything in the end feels that much sweeter.

Those types of tropes aren’t for everyone and it’s difficult when you don’t know what’ll happen next. But I’m excited to keep reading!!!!! 🤠

I'm excited to read it more in full upon completion/when the story starts to look up. There's nothing I love more as a reader and an author that juicy angst to make the good times sweeter. I'm sure it's really hard to see some of your prior fan base walking away because of the shift in tone, but just because it's no longer for readers of fluff-only doesn't mean that you won't eventually gather fans of angst to replace them! Your art and characters and story are phenomenal.

And while it may be hard to read initially, it shows growth in the characters and supports the story. I wouldn’t worry about anyone complaining Jui! Take Off is amazing, it’s the only story I’ve moved to Patreon to support (from Tapas, etc)! You’re doing an amazing job! 💜

With art and writing you're bound to have people who love your work and also a fair amount of people who don't like it or hate it. That's unfortunately just the nature of the beast. There's no pleasing everyone but you have a great fan base who appreciates your work! So keep it up and just create what makes you happy and that happiness will keep spreading to us.

2024-12-14 00:49:11 +0000 UTCI LOVE your work: I read tons of webtoons every day and "Take Off" is definitely one of the best told stories, with a great plot (which is not a given among works containing 🍆🍆💦 ), with a psychological characterization of the characters that makes you identify and participate! If I have to be honest, it's a work that deserves time and support: something like those you see in the studios of big celebrities where you have an assistant who spends twenty minutes shading Andrew's cheek because he deserves it all! (OK! Maybe I exaggerated, but dreaming doesn't cost anything!)

2024-12-13 22:48:00 +0000 UTCFleshing out YOUR characters means this story is all the better for it. Personally I enjoy the uncertainty and realism that such a relationship endures. It makes it seem more authentic and believeable. I also love the fact that every single person who reads and enjoys this story will interpret it in their own personal way. That's what great art does and it should be celebrated. I'm majorly bummed that living in the UK means I might find it harder to get my hands on the physical books, but what you write and draw won't stop me from reading it each release. I feel sad for you that you have had to wrestle with your ability and your creativity; self reflection is sometimes a narrow path, and when others stand in your way it can seem impassable. I am a supporter and a champion of your work, and I will continue to be for as long as you are here and your stories are waiting to be told.

I loved the recent chapters, it was quite hard to read because of how real it is but that just shows how much of a good writer you are. This gives more depth to the characters, more depth to the story. And overall a serious work to look forward to.

People will inevitably have opinions on characters and the plot points of a story they're invested in. But if they react negatively, that's on them and not you. Some people will have their own ideas about how they think a character should act but again THAT'S ON THEM NOT YOU. It's never your personal responsibility to tiptoe around the ideas that other people have created in their heads about YOUR characters. You can't control it so don't try to. Remember that you have created a beautiful story and we're all so grateful that you've shared it with us. Sending you all the love 🩷🩷🩷

But that shows that they were well done and evoked a lot of emotion. And please let me assure you the vast majority of us trust your vision and we know and believe that you will create a fantastic and satisfying story. I, for sure, will definitely want the next volume on your section of my shelf.

Anytime complex emotions and characters are shown, there's bound to be mixed reactions, but I think that's a testament to your storytelling and writing abilities. You've got something really beautiful here, and I love reading about Andrew and Nathan's journey! Honestly we can all have our say, and explain what we liked or didn't like; but at the end of the day it's you who choose what you want your boys to experience and learn, and how you want to explain it!! True that, sometimes, fan comments might give you a different perspective and you might modify something; but there's no need to change anything for us, you change it for you, and because it suits your narrative and story. If someone doesn't like it, they can find a different story to read!! You're doing absolutely amazing, you're one of my favourite authors and Take Off one of my favourite stories; you put love and effort into everything you do, you're fair to, and appreciative of, your fans, and so down to earth!!! Honestly if I were rich I'd purchase every single piece of merchandise, and I'm SO looking forward to the physical books!! I need them in my life!!!!
