Female Link Friday - New Year
Added 2025-01-30 05:40:47 +0000 UTCFollowing the direction of my last illustration, this week's Female Link dons similar apparel. How fitting given that it was created on Chinese New Year. I'm dropping it here earlier since I don't like posting art so close to the end of the month.
The various shades of green look nice next to each other - as well as the surrounding colours. I think there's a good arrangement of cool and warm colours in this artwork, helping to create a visually interesting experience out of what is an otherwise simple illustration.
I would've liked to draw a background, but I'd need to plan ahead. That seems to be a trend lately -- and a problem with waiting until the end of the week to start drawing.
Anyway time for me to disappear for another week or something, haha.

It looks good, it's an update, and it sounds like you got a bit of useful practice balancing colors. Triple win. I've said this to other creators as well: I'm not paying for your suffering. Specifically, knowing you suffered doesn't make me think the work is 'better'. There's a lot of mental illness in work culture and the arts that says otherwise, especially the idea that it can't be good if it was easy, and the idea that suffering is an acceptable substitute for delivering good work. No. Paying for the expectation that someone will suffer is sick. I'm looking for "it gets easier with a few hundred hours of practice under your belt".
