2021-05-20 17:25:50 +0000 UTCI really hope you guys will revisit the Israel-Palestine conversation with a Palestinian voice or a supportive journalist's voice in the room. I was surprised Andrew didn't include in the conversation the clear imbalance of power, the decimation of civilian buildings in Gaza, or an acknowledgement of Israel being an apartheid state with all their human rights violations. Or the vast differential of lives lost (217 Palestinians vs 10 Israelis). Dove says "I cry for every single lost life on both sides" but it's meaningless when he isn't calling for the country with power to stop their aggression and taking land and killing people. This conversation felt like a judge telling a rapist and their victim that they should both practice restraint. Innocent Palestinians are being bombed right now as I write this and the US is refusing to even call for a ceasefire. Please consider how you can lend your voice to the oppressed in this situation. Ya'll had Alex Jones, Chris Hansen, and a handful of different specialists on the pod this year with Flagrant U. It would've been entirely possible to invite a pro-Palestinian voice who could've also put in their two cents during that hour long segment. Respect your guys' opinion but don't cap as if you suddenly don't have access to the tools that make for a well-rounded conversation.
