Lights Required

Well back to a 2 weeks schuelede.

Since the last Post I kinda wanted to reach the point where I was last year ago (in terms of interfaces) which kinda worked, but I am not fully there yet.

The Island Building Menu is back and fully functional in design choise so I can now test out the engine for mistakes or other things that are interesting.

Compared from before, where Tile Placement is already a thing the UI in some regards got a Improvement on other points it looks worse.
I like the new "Selecton" Options for the Terrain & Height, they are more dynamic and also are easier to use and minimizing them does not turn them off unless you do not want to.

But as seen some Tiles are just plain dark right now. Why is that?
Well I am working on a fix for a different issue.

As seen some triangles look very badly in this scene. Like pretty ugly.
I found thanks to "BeastLegend" a solution to that. Which was pretty obviouse.
(Basically Rotate the triangles if needed)
Which was easier to implement then I thought and the way it was done still gave me the option to run everything on Instanced Renderring for better performance.

Downside is the Triangles that are rotated are not properly calculated right now in the lighting calculation. Since I am not that good at the calculation of directions yet it looks bad. But it is only a matter of time before the problem is solved.

Outside of that I had a lot of "fun" with the UI. I kinda went nuts on the "Custom Windows" which do not look perfect but at least nicer then stuck overlays, now there is Scrollable windows, Scrollable panes and a couple more things, I am not done with that yet since for profiling I want a couple more components (like a lagometer for those who play mc).

Overall I can say that I am happy with the progress I made. Lots of engine and internal stuff, that will help me in the future too, some user stuff and some progress overall.

Oh yeah thanks to Alexander Shcherbin and  BeastLe9enD for helping out either by having their project OpenSource or directly helping with issues.

These things help getting me used to things that I never did before and can prevent mistakes that they already did.

Anyway lets see what next post comes out.

Thanks for reading. Speiger
