Sasuke was alone from the start only to have 1 mission to kill his brother then come to find out that mission isn't what he wanted once he found out what actually happened. It's way deeper then Minato and sasuna dying for naruto just way more story and plot in Sasuke and Itachi story

The dad is the head of the police force so that's why he was out, he was handeling business & idk if they ever say where the mom was. Maybe running some errands... Yea I had to quickly look some stuff up to confirm since I personally never read the manga. This scene in the anime makes it seem more like it was more impossible for Minato to do it since he lacked the necessary power/chakra/technique at that time, but I see a lot more people saying it's because Naruto wouldn't be able to handle it as a newborn/not full Uzumaki. Maybe it's a bit of both though, who knows. What I've learned is apparently Kishimoto never gives a super clear answer haha.

The nine tails chakra was soo much that he only sealed half in naruto and the other half in himself so that it would die with him. If he hadnt sealed the other half the nine tails would be a bit weaker for a while but still strong and alive. Kushina was going to die regardless because jinchuriki dont survive long after having their tailed beast extracted, think back to Gara at the beginning of shippuden. So he wanted to save a piece of her within naruto. Also they both would have died either way because they both instinctively jumped in front of the claw to save their son. I think its just the best possible outcome with the way the dice fell.

To remind you guys about the story Madara told Sasuke, it was the suspicion that Madara was the one to send the 9 tails after Konoha Village that cast careful eyes on the Uchiha clan and further pushed them into the position the village forced them into, because only the Sharingan can control a tailed beast.

Minato putting on his hokage cloak with determination. was one of the best and most powerful moments to me and Kushinas last words to Naruto make me cry no matter how many times I have watched it not only because as a mother myself, I can’t imagine having to say goodbye to your child on the day they were born but she also goes knowing life is going to be tough for him. The best part was Naruto finally knew that his parents loved him dearly, enough to die for him. That final hug by Kushina was beautiful and emotional but what Naruto needed as you can see by the peace on his face. Laura Bailey who voiced Kushina in dub also did an amazing job in that final scene.

So i saw one part confused you for a second. The moment where minato noticed the paper bombs on baby naruto before dipping and leaving madara with kushina, that moment where the background goes black is minato using his teleport jutsu to escape so the explosion happened somewhere else entirely because remember they were originally in a cave, not a shack.

Again my tears won't stop. 😭😭😭 How they protected and loved Naruto. Naruto finally got to take in and feel all that love through meeting his mom with her Chakra that was sealed in him. When Itachi said his parents weren't around, it can mean something or nothing depending on how you look at it. For me, it meant that Itachi loved Sasuke more than anyone or anything. In addition, that was the night when Tobi and the Nine tails attacked the village, the Uchiha's who were the village Police force were no where to be seen to fight or protect the citizens and civilians. Where were they? Were they having their Uchiha clan meeting? The Nine-tails was controlled by the Sharingan. Did the Uchiha's planned this? These incident definitely caused further doubts against the Uchiha's. Which led to more fear towards the Uchiha's and even more suppression towards the Uchiha's, the Uchiha's who then finally plotted a coup d'état, Danzo and the elders to take action and made Itachi a spy in his own clan and wipe out his entire clan.

FLYING RAIJIN LEVEL 2 I couldn’t help the tears bruh. Minato gets his flowers as the yellow flash but his character is still underrated. His entire life he was the protector, he had the burden of responsibility, he gave his life for his Naruto to have this moment. That weight is so heavy, the most powerful shinobi of his time sacrificed himself for the belief that his son was the child of prophecy. Now Shippuden begins and Naruto is a man. The chains have been removed. I love this show.

Its intresting cus there was 2 options what kushina wanted to do which is basicaly she wanted to take the 9 tails back inside her and then die (technicaly she was already dying because he was extracted from her but she didnt die instantly) so she would take him back and dieand then the 9 tails would die with her (TEMPORARILy) so the problem will be solved temporarily until the 9 tails reform/reappear which is what minato pointed out to her so minato understood this is bad for konoha since they wont have the 9 tails (even when he reappears they donthave him locked so they cant use him and he might reappear in another village the specifics arent really explained but we can get why its basicaly bad decision )🙏🔥

Thats my entire point The 3rd had the chance to either keep the secret of what Naruto is from everyone making him just a normal child (he didn't do this) He could have told Naruto what he is and what his parents did and made sure that Naruto kept this secrets (he didn't do this either) He could have just told everyone how his parents died and Naruto may be feared but he would at least be respected. (He failed on literally all fronts and chose the worst possible path for Naruto who deserves waaaay better given the sacrifice his family made) It is super clear that he just wanted Naruto to have a bad childhood so that his outward love for his village would make him a much more sympathetic character but the reasoning for that rough childhood makes zero sense when he decided to make his parents these super well respected heros. 5. I know that not everyone has everything planned out, good writers are good at hiding this though. Kishimoto made it very clear that he didn't have this plot line figured out by how sloppy so much of the writing in this section is. We shouldn't be left with these questions as to why the 3rd failed on so many levels and we shouldn't feel like Narutos mom and dad are being rushed to their death at the end of the flashback. Minato could have lived but he diceded it would be better for both parents to die so that Kushina could talk to Naruto? was there really no better way to make it so that they both had to die while still fulfilling that goal?

@MKGalaxy Dude, Narutos parents died to save the village and his reward is to be hated by the entire village, even if the 3rd Hokage is mad at the 9 tails it makes no sense to take it out on Naruto who has no say in any of it. Naruto knows he's a jinchirki so it makes no sense to say that the 3rd doesn't want him to know. It literally just doesn't make any sense and its clear that everything was thought up after the fact to tug on the viewers heart strings.

Yup. People have and will come up with their own head canons on why the 3rd treated Naruto so poorly, but we all know the full details of the Naruto-verse wasn't fleshed out completely from the beginning. Most mangas don't know ahead of time whether it's going to get popular and serialized, so naturally the mangakas don't have very single detail thought out ahead of time. Plus, some elements of the story just naturally changes as the author develops new ideas. Naruto's backstory was originally meant to be a tragic story of an orphan, and that's probably the extent to which Kishimoto had fleshed out his backstory. But gradually down the line, he decided that Naruto being a jinchuriki was not a secret to the higher ups and that the 3rd had every chance to help shelter him. There's no amount of head canon that can properly explain why Naruto was impoverished, barely living off of cup ramen. There's several examples of retcons throughout the story and I think the best is to just enjoy the story for what it is without getting too bogged down.

The villagers disliked Naruto regardless of what the hokage had to say. Many of their family members were killed by the nine tails. Also, Naruto was annoying so I get why they would not like him lol

Really makes you wonder why the 3rd Hokage was such an awful guardian to Naruto. He let the entire village hate him for no reason. It definitely feels like the logic was a little out of wack with the Minato and Kushina flashback. It feels like Kishimoto started the story with Naruto's parents being dead because of the 9 tails and then as the power level of the characters in the show increased he just couldn't come up with a good reason for both parents to be dead given how strong Minato should have been at this point in the story. It doesn't take much away from the fact that is incredibly sad that both of Narutos parents died for him and for the village and Naruto had to grow up being hated by the village they saved. Its just frustrating because it feels like Kishimoto didn't really earn any of that sadness when you really stop to think about it.

It is mentionned during the ep very quickly but not directly. fun fact that won't be mentionned in the anime. The third hokage actually had a wife named Biwaki who died during the kyubi attack on the village. Pretty sad how many people got taken away that night and why people ressent Naruto as much for being the vessel.

Man, the waterworks always happen with these episodes. Kishi is very good at parent/child dynamics. I think what made me happy when this happened in the manga/anime was learning that Naruto had such loving parents who easily gave their lives for him. He was so truly loved.

Itachi mentioning his parents not being there isn’t part of a conspiracy but your thought about the Uchiha having ties with controlling the 9 tails is correct and they were actually blamed for this occurrence since they didn’t help out in protecting the village against the attack and they noticed the 9 tails was under a Sharingan’s control (shouldn’t be spoiler since it’s filler in the show but it’s in the manga). Also, one of my favorite fun facts that’s not mentioned in the show, after Kushina died, Sasuke’s mom wanted to adopt Naruto so that he wouldn’t grow up alone and was raised with a family but the elders were being selfish and doing want to give the control of the 9 tails to the Uchiha (with reason of course but still it’s a bit messed up).

By far one of my favorite set of episodes of Naruto, Itachi mentioning that his parents were not home goes into more detail in a novel of Itachi, it got somewhat animated later on, but it is consider filler since is not part of the manga, but at this point the Uchiha was already not trusted by the higher up's of the Village. Madara did mention in an earlier episode that higher up's thought the Uchiha were the ones behind the nine tails attack, so even though they didn't cause it, they were kinda blamed for it

This isnt talked about enough, but Kushina is a BEAST for surviving that long after everything she went through. She gave birth to a whole CHILD, then had the 9 tails ripped out of her - something that should instantly kill the jinchuriki (as seen with Gaara and all the others captured and killed by the akatsuki) - yet she STILL had enough strength to chain down AND HOLD the 9 tails, gets STABBED through the CHEST by a claw the size of a CANNON, AND STILL MANAGES TO SAY ALL THAT SHE DID!!! Thats a SUPERHUMAN!! Tobi is still my favorite character in the series btw. Yes that is absolutely fkd up i know after seeing all this. I just still love his character

The thing is, that Kushina wasn´t gonna survive, because we know from the Gaara arc that once someone takes out the biju out of the jinchuriki, the jinchuriki dies. The only difference was that Kushina was very strong, that´s why she lasted that long. And Minato, mentions that he didn´t had other way to seal the kyubi but to use that jutsu, therefore he died as well, and he thought that by sealing a part of the kyubi inside of him, he was making sure that Tobi did not get the kyubi´s full power. I think that´s why he made that decision at the end. He tried to think fast in a very very dangerous situations and very very ahead. Honestly I think Minato did the best he could with the little knowledge he had at his expense

Since Naruto was small, Minato couldn't seal the whole 9 Tails inside Naruto, so he had to seal half of it inside him. If he sealed the other half anywhere else, there was a risk that 9 Tails revived and other villages could take advantage of that. Also, he had almost no chakra when he had to split and seal it, so he kinda had no choice but to use the Death Reaper Seal Jutsu: One half in Naruto, and the other half completely gone with no option to be revived. PS: About Sasuke's dad. I think the show implies that there was no strong Uchiha in the village who could help stop 9 Tails.

And the clan was later blamed for the ninetails attacking the village when it was only Tobi who did it on his own since it is known that Uchihas have that ability . And I always thought he could have sealed half of the ninetails in Naruto and the other half in himself or back into Kishina so at least one of them would survive but I might be wrong idk.

Was it the best decision…? 🤷‍♂️ on one hand yes it’s a crazy idea, using the reaper death seal because he was so down on power is kinda like going to a back door surgeon to do a liver transplant, but on you gotta do what you gotta do. On the other, considering the 9tails was out and about … Naruto was also the best candidate to seal the fox anyway being Kushinas son and also gestating with the fox present. About minato decision, he didn’t have much choice as he was really exhausted from maintaining the seal during childbirth and moving kyubi outside the village. The nine tails is an enormous mass of chakra he couldn’t handle alone at that specific time. Kushina was dying and sealing all of the chakra in her would have probably killed him. She would have also died in the process without letting a bit of chakra in Naruto. It was to risky of a move. The worst case scenario being them dying attempting to seal all of kyubi in one person. The chakra would have been dissolved and reforming outside of the leaf control

Really powerful sharingan users can control tailed beasts. The only one we know of is madara, it’s not something any Uchiha can do. This event was what causes the rift between the Uchiha and the village tho, bc an Uchiha controlled it, and the only one who knew (minato) died, there were people who blamed the Uchiha for this incident. So madara essentially snowballed the whole itachi story, killed narutos parents.. and caused the creation of Naruto as a Jinchuriki in a matter of hours… kinda nuts
