As far as Star's quirk think of it like this, if an arm is attached to someone it is part of that person's sense of self/identity. If something has it's own self/identity Star's rule has to name it in a way that aligns with how that person views their arm. A real good example of the specifics would be if it had been used on Todoroki's arms when he was in the school festival. at the time he viewed his left side as Endeavors and his right side as his own so Star might have had to call rules for his left side by calling it in relation to Endeavor and his right side in relation to himself. In present day Todoroki views himself as fully his own person so just applying rules to him as Todoroki Shouto would worknow but depending on the rule before when he viewed part of himself as Endeavor's it's more ambigious if that would have worked or if since he viewed it as Endeavor's if it had to be called out as belonging to Endeavor. Either way a person doesn't view THEIR OWN ARM as an object so what you said wouldn't apply the way it meant though it could potentially work the other way around if the person being affected by the rule didn't believe apart of themself to actually be part of themself but the rule named it in a way that believed it was like a leg, but the person doing the naming didn't know it was a false leg or the person (like Eraser) had cut off their leg and it had been regrown and they still didn't feel like it was theirs/still felt like it belonged to someone else or disassociation like what Lady Nagant went through with trauma related to a limb or doing something out of character and feeling like your limb aren't your own cause you moved out of instinct or had been undermind control. Lots of things can affect the quirk it seems from what they told us because there are many potential factors affecting how someone views themself verses how others view them. Plus if people have hero names they view as themself to the point they don't feel like their civilian name is themself there can be even more layers. Love that you're thinking deep into it already.

2024-05-05 20:56:59 +0000 UTCshe was just a random girl who was born with the quirk, i guess ? it doesnt really matter where shes from. how does that or the population size have an effect on her quirk ? shes as strong, or even stronger then a guy, collecting, researching and refining quirks for multiple generations, gives me like a "ok, i guess" feeling. if you stack the hero or villain with more and more power way too fast and dont let the rest of the cast catch up you have to create other people that can at least compare to that power. its almost like inflation, where you start to print larger and larger money bills and in this case its also a bit of a cheap quirk, not that shes just strong, she can literally do ANYTHING thats why i dont really like the concept, but i still like her character to be honest, shes cool.

2024-05-05 20:32:56 +0000 UTCRon your limb theory wouldn't work. As long Shigiraki is still alive and his limbs are still attached to him they can't be treated as objects. Think of it as your own arm, its attached to you and everyone can see it as Ron's arm, but if you found a random arm on the road it will just be known as an arm. So since he has no identity yet, neither does his limbs.

If you wanted to be able to do things like picture a hand as a tree, literally, all you would need to do is start listening to poetry.

And there is obviously a range what can be done, otherwise it would be way overly busted. So the creative use is key. Unless a person mentally trains himself to identify everything on him as a different name. A hand being identified as a tree, etc, lol

Remember when she names a living thing, the living thing's perception and her perception have to MATCH, it's not JUST about her perception. She could probably treat the dead parts of his body as objects which could be pretty fun, like she could grab shiguraki's hair and make a rule "this hair weighs 5 million pounds" and just drops him into the ocean, or maybe if he used rivet stab, she could probably make a rule on the red and black thingies that come out of his body, or she could stick a finger in his mouth and make a rule on his spit, but any living tissue i think would defer to the mind controlling it

Right into the action 🔥 I LOVE that we are going to experience so many different stories within these characters! Tomuras own fight within himself is such a CRAZY ride that I’m ready to learn and figure out, sooooo deep 🔥 It’s wild because All for One is the ULTIMATE villain and One for All is the ULTIMATE power to destroy him and Deku is chosen to be the last wielder (as an anime only watcher, that’s my prediction, but could be wrong 😅). Man the beauty of anime, we get left to figure out why the heck is going to happen and then we get hit with twists and turns. Love this shiii 🔥

2024-05-05 01:02:10 +0000 UTCsaw this comment on reddit and thought its actually really funny tbh "The social commentary is not lost on me that the number one hero of the U.S. has a quirk that allows her to essentially make up her own rules that govern reality and it’s called New Order." i love mha, but it seems the power scaling is escalating so hard since shigaraki and deku got multiple quirks, its insane. they bring in a hero that can do whatever she wants and literally bend reality ( even tho there are some rules and restrictions to it) to have a chance in a fight. dont know the manga, but curious how our old heroes can even contribute in the future, especially dekus classmates... besides maybe bakugo, cant imagine him not playing a role... and todoroki who will probably fight his brother ? still good 1st episode. thought it would be more of a recap, like they did with the previous seasons 1st episodes. also for your question: i dont think arms/legs are seperated from the person, so you still would have to know the name to set a rule. thats like her only downside, that she usually wouldn know your name, otherwise she could beat anyone in an instant. gets probably weird when it comes to plants/animals... her quirk doesnt really fit in the universe if you ask me she should get some shinigami eyes :)
