Yeah Itachi killed his entire clan but he had no real choice, he was stuck between two sides, and the side he took stopped a possible war from breaking loose. If he didn't do that more innocent souls would be lost. This is sort of why I don't love Sakura. It's not so much that she's a weak shinobi, not everyone can be a genius tactical fighter or have incredible power. She's sort of manipulative with Naruto's feelings and doesn't trust him enough or feel she can be honest with him. Just lame lol. Just my opinion though, but this arc is where I started losing a lot of respect for her. There's strength in being vulnerable and allowing others to help you - she has to learn this lesson instead of trying to take on the world by herself.

Yes, he had somewhat pure intentions towards the leaf village, but the way he went about everything and the power he lusted after, that simply isn't his the wield, even if he wanted it to protect the village is just so wrong! Not to mention the very important, but often overlooked fact, of the Uchiha being PART OF THE VILLAGE! You can't play god and decide over people's lives, because you want their power for yourself, which is the main reason I personally believe he even attacked the Uchiha and forced them to be outcasts with decisions made by him and the other leaders of Konoha, so that they actually did turn into a threat to the leaf. The fact he had his fingers in Nagatos village's unfortunate fate and was basically responsible for forming a terror group, named Akatsuki, is wild as well. In the end his Kamikaze attempt of taking out two of the biggest existing threats to Konoha thus far, was also fruitless, but he did thinking about how the thrid Holage died ACTUALLY doing something to prevent Orochimaru from continuing his assault on the village. I wouldn't count that as change... When he decided to take sasuke and madara with him, he had a few seconds of life, would have he taken that decision if had a way to escape and survive? I doubt it, but he would 100% blow up one of his subordinates if it meant taking Madara and Sasuke out, just a few moments before he was thinking of using Shisui eye to manipulate Madara and use him, there was never a hint of sacrifice in him until he was pretty much dead.

Do you remember how he was courageously hiding in his hole while the village was destroyed, instead of thinking of protecting it he was thinking about how he would capitalize once the threat was gone. Keep in mind though, Sasuke is still very much a teenager, brought up in a society that raises child soldiers (I mean, that’s basically what 12yo shinobis are) probably suffering from crazy ptsd of watching his parents brutally murdered and ultimately groomed under not one but two murderous eyeball-obsessed psychopaths. I’m not entirely convinced that Kishimoto intentionally planned out all these details for those very reasons but they definitely make sense within Naruto-verse. So Danzo ripipng off his arm - remember we've seen other situations when people splice other ninja cells into their body. Remember when sasuke merged with orochimaru? and the curse mark in general? The whole point of his sort of fail-safe ressurection was if someone uses up all their chakra, the dormant spliced chakra can overtake the host body. That's why the first hokages cells started going wild - because Danzo's chakra was tapped and he couldn't hold it at bay anymore

Danzo literally turned villain because he FELT lesser than. Like that's it. There is nothing deep or profound about it. so most of the pro-Danzo comments is lowkey surprising to me lol. Think about Rock Lee and how instead of being resentful and bitter that he wasn't as good as the people who can use ninjitsu, he trained his butt off to be on par if not stronger than most of them and protect everyone in the village that way. Think about Pain's backstory and despite everything he went through (went through way worse than Danzo) it wasn't until he felt so helpless he went down the wrong path. Think about Gara and how far he's come, hell think about how bitter and resentful Naruto could have become given his backstory. Danzo killed an entire clan, then used Orohimaru to be able to use their eyes as a trump card when pushed against the wall, then immediately after when tsunade went into coma proclaimed himself to be the hokage, then manipulated the samurai in trying to take over the allied forces, then tried to literally take the byakugan from someone. None of it was for the village, like literally he keeps saying that but none of his actions ever benefitted the village, only benefitted him. I think Danzo's methods were always both morally and ethically gray, but I did always respect his motives and loyalty to the village. Like I never thought he was just straight up evil. He's just the kind of guy that always believed the end always justified the means. And that is majorly due to the era he grew up in.
