I think before, it was fun because the humor matched the goofy style the show is animated in. The character designs, etc plus things were alot lighter so they could laugh more, goof around more and take things less seriously. I guess you could say popularity has something to do with it as well because I guess there would be a greater need to have things that can ‘Wow’ the community after running for decades now and the fact that it’s on its final stretch

But seeing the thumbnails particularly the one you explained reminds me just how good one piece was in the beginning. It's been unwatchable for a long time. Maybe if it didn't become popular it wouldn't have turned into dogshit.

With Nami's safety on the line, he bows his head allowing his hat to fall off and he does not pick it up at once. Small detail, but it suggests once again that he values Nami's life/his crew above even his hat. Really great storytelling Oda Sensei!

2024-03-02 15:24:03 +0000 UTCthats a really cold take, what are you on about? the story was great, he liberated the prison, the betrayal, the start of onigashima, the story was good, luffy had to die to get to this point and alot of people actually understand the character progression... but you dont see it i guess, everyone is almost starving aswell, the message of wano was really beautyful, youre making a mockery of oda and the directors, if you only like one piece for its animation then idk why you are watching it lol

Just saying cause I don't think you guys would have time to go back and watch again. Luffy was so excited for and wanted to see the snowy island but did not leave Nami's side. Luffy only left Nami's side to go see the snowy island when Zoro told him that he will look after Nami so he does not have to worry. Luffy as always goofy but still cares for his friends.❤️
