ikr it is just messy & confusing for everybody involved lmao Especially since it is a minority of OP fans that have watched it via One Pace (and most of those only on rewatch anyway). Not even to throw shade, but, from my experience, a good bunch of the people recommending it are folks, who are not even caught up and have often already dropped One Piece in one of those arcs sometime around 500-700 due to pacing...they just happen to be the vocal minority

What makes it even funnier is that 312 didn't even remake the Shanks flashback lol...only thing taken from it was the remade version of the first opening; the Shanks flashback remake was actually taken from of the "Episode of"-OVAs The episode credits from that One Pace episode just happened to say "Episode Of, 312", which made everybody think it meant ep312, when in fact it is is mentioning 2 different independent sources

Im gonna ask again - The anime doesn't include some side stories - these side stories are SUPER IMPORTANT (I'll explain what they are when the episode drops of where the side stories should've been - The anime only ever adapted the first which you've seen in the Live Action - you'll also be caught up with next two episode

Michelle you are partially right shanks was introduced in the 2nd episode itself since you guys watched one pace you guys got to see the full uncensored origin story which was remade as a celebration for the anime running so long initially the episode introducing shanks had to be changed in few areas because of censorship being weird at the time since this used to air on tv over the years that has changed which is why we got a reanimated peisode of shanks meeting Luffy as like an anniversary episode plus shanks was mentioned episodes later during encounter with buggy remember

People saying to skip filler arcs are dead wrong. Watch the show and enjoy. There's some cannon information sprinkled through out them as well. Skipping a few episodes here and there isn't really going to get you caught up any sooner. Also, more recorded episodes is more YouTube content, js.

The reason you guys reacted to a episode a few 100 in is because One Piece used a recap episode from much later on. The regular anime shows Shanks episode 4 . Sorry but you are wrong on this one. Usher, I'm not a fan of Davy Back fight myself, but I think it serves the storyline very well because of what happens in the following arc. It elevates every character's internal concerns that reach a boiling point in Water 7. Honestly the best way to consume Davy Back fight is to do One Pace, then watch the 2-3 "cool guy" episodes from the normal anime.

One Pace made the story be told in the same way the original Manga does it. Whilst the anime has the backstory happen in episode 4, the manga and One Pace makes it happen in the beginning. The people that made One Pace are incredible, they make the music sync up flawlessly, and they understand the story so well. They even makes it more accurate to the manga. I think you miss out on a lot of fun by watching one pace, but One Pace would never let u miss out on any important narrative moments. It only skip fun crew interaction stuff, filler stuff etc.

Shanks and the Straw Hat scene were shown in Episode 4. Also the One Pace doesn’t necessarily follow the manga any more than the original One Piece does, it just cuts out a lot of scenes to make the pacing a little better but in my opinion, One Pace just makes One Piece less enjoyable. It’s only necessary when you reach the 600s-700s

One Piece is so well written that's fans go crazy how things eventually gets linked. And don't worry, Shanks has already been introduced in the original anime Episode 4. EP 4 Quick recap showed Luffy backstory: Shanks and crew drank all the alcohol in the bar and the bandits ain't happy, Luffy got mad Shanks did not fight back, eats the GomuGomu devil fruit, got kidnapped by the bandits, Shanks and crew beat the bandits up, the bandits leader ran away with Luffy to the sea, sea monster almost ate them, Shanks saved Luffy and lost an arm.

Lol watched Arlong Park like 6Times+. Why do i cry like a baby as a 25year old dude in all these NamiFlashback episodes. Like wtf how was One Piece so good back then? I totally forgot that bc of all the pacinghate people always spread. What a masterpiece of a characterstory arlong park is, unbelivable to think about the impact it has with its characters on future episodes. Emotions Peak this year in one piece. They definitely could have made the OPLA Nami backstory hit way more but I thought it was still good especially knowing what was going to happen. But yeah OP backstories, the build ups and pay offs for the arcs are what make OP so addicting and amazing to watch/read. This is only the beginning and you don't get 1000+ episodes being "mid piece". Can't wait for more of you 2 on your journey watching OP!

The Live Action reaally sped through Nami's arc here. They missed a lot. They captured the fun adventurous vibes and got Luffy right. That was enough for people to be happy with it, but it really didn't even scratch the surface of this arc Nami's deeper backstory is a good example of why I love One Piece so much. Oda always takes the time explore the depth of everything. He loves to goof around but he will sucker punch you out of nowhere with all these little details that make things even more emotional. Idk what you were talking about at the end regarding Shanks not being in the anime lol. Might be worth going and watching ep 4 of the regular anime in your own time or somethin

First of all yesss! Blue Eye Samurai so good!! And also, the original anime did reveal the Luffy-Shanks backstory around ep4 but it did censor some things like how Luffy got the scar under his eye (as in didn't show that part at all). But in future, the anime remakes some of the flashbacks with better animation and without censoring so those newer scenes were the ones One Pace used at the beginning to replace the original scenes

In fact, Luffy's backstory is introduced in Episode 4 from One Piece, so you don't have to worry. The thing is, the backstory in One Pace is just a remake of the original one, shown in the TV special One Piece: Episode of East Blue which sums up the whole East Blue saga until Nami arc ends. It's mostly the same with little changes (except for the animation) and additional info on several circumstances not shown that early in the Anime. Interesting fact: the live action was, not entirely, but strongly based on this TV special because of its 'movie' lenght.

BTW, after you watch episode 53, there's a filler arc, but two episodes have Canon information about the weather and geography and fauna around the grand line. Skip ep54. Watch the first 8 minutes of ep55 after you hit play. (ignore the little girl) Skip ep56-60. Start watching ep61 at 13:15. Alternatively, if this sounds too complicated, you can just watch the filler arc.

To clear up the backstory confusion: The anime episode 4 has a slightly altered version of the manga original. The one pace version is a reanimated scene more accurately to the manga.

Yes it gets way better, but at times theres instances and some arcs which are slow but still have important lore and peak moments. So much gets added to the overarching plot/lore over time. The backstories get even better. And to correct michelle, in episode 4 you meet red hair shanks.
