2023-12-19 06:59:55 +0000 UTCThis show is so enjoyable to me because there's just an incredible amount of detail not just for what's in the forefront, but the direction of angles, symbolism and small background shots that carry major significance. For example, the shadow over the picture of Lena with her father and uncle, showing that his death left a dark spot on both of them. At 15:22, the last name etched on the cemetery headstone is her father's, being the last Alba to ever officially die in combat. There's a dozen of these every episode, and it shows the care and attention to detail the creators have for this world.

2023-12-19 02:24:30 +0000 UTCAs someone who has completed the anime, I have compared it to Attack On Titan (both are tied in my #1 spot). I find it amazing how the characters in 86 were developed so well within their depth and personality to the point where watchers can quickly gain an “emotional connection” within the first few episodes. Last episode, episode 3, was what did it for me, and seeing Kirschblute’s signal disappear on the monitor as the ending began to fade in was heart wrenching. And as a side note, you two reacting to 86 (again, my favorite anime) is all I could ever ask for in regards to anime reactions. I genuinely cannot wait for your reactions in the episodes to come as I am counting down the days to each and every of my favorite episodes!
