@Michael No disrespect, but Sasori honestly gets wanked to high. There is nothing he can do to Kakazu. Once he breaks his Hiruko puppet it's over. Kakazu has such massive AOEs that he could easily deal with 1000 puppets. Deidara would indeed be a harder match for Kakazu bc of range. Also, Kakazu is the oldest shinobi there is, having fought against Hashirama. I'd say he has more combat ability than Sasori.

Kakashi was able to use Lightning Style to smash the first mask because Kakuzu did not detect him. He did not have the earth style active so he got pierced by Kakashi. The jutsu he uses to steal hearts and basically be immortal is earth style in the first case, earth style is his own affinity, not from one of the hearts. We never actually got to see the water style jutsu the mask could use because it was destroyed before it got to do anything. The water style jutsu he used to blend into the surroundings is the part that actually doesn't make sense, because in the manga he doesn't do that.

Kakashi believed Kakuzu was earth type only at this time, but regardless, a sneak attack doesn't matter about chakra nature (for the most part). Not like that heart would have any chakra nature in its defense. Maks, I don't think you understand that sneak attacks in shonen aren't impressive or indicative of strength, given countless characters in shonen die to weaker characters from sneak attacks

Yup he stole the forbidden Jutsu Earth grudge …something and that’s what allows him to have 4 hearts and sewing abilities. He stole this because the land of waterfalls elders imprisoned him for execution for failing to kill the 1st Hokage. He escaped and the first hearts he stole were the elders that sentenced him to death. This is not in the anime so not a spoiler

By the way, Sasuke has innate Lighting Nature but still uses Uchiha Clan's fire style jutsus. Kakuzu has innate Earth Nature, but still uses Hidden Waterfall's water style jutsus. Through training you can basically make other nature jutsus more efficient/powerfulll.

Which doesn't make sense, and the show explains why IN THE SAME EPISODE. According to Naruto lore, Lightning is strong against Earth, and Kakashi uses Lightning Style to smash Kakuzu's first mask, which would lead lots of people to believe he smashed the Earth mask, especially since Kakuzu was shown to use Water style afterwards. On the other hand, he also seemingly was able to still use Earth Style. Which begs the question, is the Narutoverse confused by its own lore?

Hidan and Kakuzu are not the strongest members of Akatsuki. I would say somewhere in the middle. But you will see in the future what the strongest members are capable of.

Deidara is not the weakest one. Hidan is. If we are going off feats alone, Deidara is over Sasori. Heck, feats alone Sasori is third to last. We have statements(statements should always be taken with a grain of salt). He beat the 3rd Kazekage, stated to be the strongest Kazekage. But, we still lack feats. He took down a nation. Nations can vary in size, and a nation of peasants? Warriors? Meanwhile, Deidara single handedly captures a jinchuriki. And I can't get into what he does later. But you are right, Akatsuki members can and are evenly matched in some cases. I don't think it would be a blow out fight, but I think Kakazu takes it a majority of the time mid diff.

Most Akatsuki member could be very evenly matched (you guys know the exceptions), you can see it going either way, even Deidara which could be consider the weakest one, can take out any of them with enough set up

Poison isn't even guaranteed to work on Kakazu. He has no organs or anything except for hearts that have been modified into his tendrils. He doesn't even have lungs. Plus all he has to do is use the wind mask to blow away the poison. Kakazu hard counters Sasori. Not even iron sand would work, if Kakazu uses diamond morph. Only thing to neg that is lightning, or...well you know the other one can't say cause of spoilers.

Kakazu stole a forbidden Justu from his village (hidden in the waterfalls) called Earth Grudge Fear. That’s what allows him to be “immortal” this is what caused him to be a rogue Shinobi. So yes he has 4 hearts replacing them with others younger specifically makes him technically immortal. I don’t consider this spoiler, it’s not in the anime. The akatsuki seem to work in teams. As you saw with Sarori n Deidara. Team art/ Team immortal. That’s just fan speculation but for now it makes total sense. Also someone added Kakazu is underrated so dude fought the first Hokage (so battle experience) and killed every Akaktsuki member he’s been paired with.
