2023-12-21 18:03:09 +0000 UTCActually eating his foot is part of the original manga story the change was made in the anime because eating one's own leg was too dark and shocking to be shown on tv especially with kids watching similarly the scar under luffys eyes was self inflicted which was shown in the manga but cut from the anime because of its graphic nature and that kids might try and imitate the hero

The anime, for the most part, is faithful to the manga but it does change things here and there. The sanji backstory is one of the big ones but I think it might be more so what could have been shown or akin to that back in the day when it aired.

2023-12-14 13:23:32 +0000 UTCNetflix followed the manga. It was changed in the anime to make it more pleasant for the viewers. The cutting of the foot was not shown so it wasn't brutal and the idea of not having to eat for almost a month is better than eating one's foot, I think.

2023-12-14 05:43:54 +0000 UTCThe cannibalism censorship is the flaw in the anime flashback, but what the anime version of the flashback does well is showcase how Sanji regrets wasting food, how Zeff points out the irony of having so much treasure but being unable to eat, and how his final purpose in life is to build a restaurant to help those in similar situations as themselves. Because the Live Action based it's adaptation from the manga, they kept the implied cannibalism. But in the manga, we get to see Zeff actually use a rock on his leg. They spare us having to see him eat it though.

Luffy is a savage, and a bit of an idiot unlike his LA counterpart! And that's why we love him for it, and his sense of justice when it comes to friends or certain situations. P.s I was that comment on the last vid! Love y'all guys reactions and this journey!!
