Definitely watch ep 24! ep 24.5 you could honestly skip or watch on your own time since it's a recap of season 1 from Veldora. Like someone else mentioned, for ep 24.9 you might only want to watch the first and last few minutes of it, otherwise it's a recap of season 1 as well.

Episode 24.5 is just basically Veldora talking with Ifrit, telling the story of Rimuru( from his point of view inside Rimuru) while playing Shogi with Ifrit. The animation is recap of Season 1. You can choose to watch on your own or react to it. Episode 24.9 I recommend to watch the first 2min and the last 1min from 21min 15sec of this episode. It is also a recap of Season 1 but with the new short hair female character at end of episode 24 that you saw but you don't know who is she(this character's name was mentioned before once or twice but you probably don't remember). It's research of Rimuru she got from outsider's point of view. You should watch this before you start Season 2 as it will get you excited for Season 2. You should watch the OVAs as it is fun to watch. The first 2 episodes are the some activities and day to day adventures happening in their village. Ron will like the first 2 episodes due to some fan service. The remaining 3 episodes are adventures and stories when Rimuru was teaching at the school.

wait that spirit came from the future but looks like the hero who sealed veldora. The mask passed from the hero to shizue to rimuru to chloe. Does that mean chloe is the hero who time travels? and gives the SAME mask to shizue? really confused or am I completely off someone let me know LOL

24 is a key episode, a flashback one, and foreshadowing one too. Veldora's Journal is Veldora's perspective of all the events happening around him, while inside Rimuru along with Ifrit. It's really funny, but also insightful

The dude with black hair, black coat and holding the crystal ball is my favourite character in the show. As mentioned in other comments, Takahiro Sakurai has voiced many great characters that you've come to know during your Anime journey <3

we're here, watch ep 24, episode 25 (titled 24.5) is just a recap. Then there's the first 5 OVAs, I'd personally say watch the last 3 of them as they are part of the story before Rimuru goes back to town (so still teacher arc) and then the same goes for the recently released 3 OVAs which is still teacher arc but focused on a separate story that introduces some important characts before starting season 2, ultimately your decision.

Hope you feel better soon Ron ❤️‍🩹 About the theory of Shizu just being reborn through Chloe and Chloe getting that spirit and it being a cycle, at the very least it wouldn't be the same fire spirit Ifrit that Shizu had in her because Ifrit got completely absorbed by Rimuru and Ifrit doesn't exist outside Rimuru anymore. P.S. You could skip Veldora's journal imo, its just a summary of what has happened so far basically.
