2023-10-08 13:25:54 +0000 UTCIn this episode? They already knew Kurapika was the chain user. At the very least, Paku, Nobunaga and Kortopi knew because Paku got that info from Squala before they linked up with the rest at the hotel. The others learning his name doesn’t change anything imo.

Pretty sure it was a writing mistake or maybe a translation mistake, because they would have noticed him saying the name and that would have changed so much

I know the manga explained it but most reactors don't usually read the manga after the show end. I wonder if it's okay to explain it Ron/Michelle coz it's a really interesting and there's a theory on why his powers are the way they are which helps in understanding him more.

2023-10-08 06:45:31 +0000 UTCIt’s just beautiful how Phinks went from someone who was so against Paku’s actions, to the main person who understood what Paku felt and the reasoning behind her actions. His line of “I understand everything”, while looking at Paku’s corpse, and “Paku wanted to thank you”, while talking to Gon and Killua, are just so powerful. Especially since I’ve always felt as thought Phinks and Paku represented the two differing ideals within the Troupe. One side was opting for loyalty to the Rules of the Spider. The other side opted for loyalty to the head of the Spider. Another way of putting it, is that one side was loyal to Chrollo the boss, while the other side was loyal to Chrollo the friend. But in the end they were both fighting for the same thing, just in different ways. Just the way Phinks could empathize with Paku’s choices, even if he would’ve made different ones, is such a testament to the Troupe’s bonds. And that in death, Phinks would pass along her message…. I’m sobbing

2023-10-08 03:06:43 +0000 UTCSomething worth noting that isn’t mentioned in the anime, but mentioned in the manga, is that each member of the Troupe doesn’t know the full scope/range of the other Spider’s abilities. They may know the general idea of a member’s ability, but they don’t know every application of said ability. For instance, all the members knew that Paku could read memories by touching someone and asking a question. BUT, most didn’t know about her “Memory Bomb” (the ability to share memories by shooting a target). Therefore that’s why some of the members were shocked when Paku pointed a gun at them at the end. Paku knew most of them didn’t know of her ability, which is why she asked them, “Do you trust me?”. Coupled with the fact she was under suspicion of being controlled by the chain user, they literally thought she was going to kill them. And Paku knew how the situation looked so she was asking them to trust her one final time. Phinks was apprehensive, but Nobunaga had already seen and experienced her ability (and although it could’ve been a bluff from Paku), he still placed his trust in her and extended Paku’s final request by telling Phinks to have faith bc it’s still Paku (one of their oldest friends). Basically, to make a long story short: The founding members of the Troupe all trust each other so much, they’re willing to let a trusted friend shoot them in the head, even if there’s a chance it kills them.

But not because Kurapika was about to kill half of them. Hisoka stated to Pakunoda a key point "the fortune change". Pakunoda understood that, she can prevent something. The reason of the fortune for half of them being dead, is because other half would've kill them. You can pretty well see, since Chrollo is absent, they cannot go all together in one decision. So that's what Pakunoda did. She killed herself for the sake of Troupe, to not get into the fortune, but to change it. Also, don't worry. Chrollo it's okay. He's enjoying the interlude. Someone's gonna help him to find the Nen's exorcist, but I'm not gonna say who. You will find out.
