After Death Note I vote for Steins;Gate to be your next show! It's my favorite anime of all time. It's thriller/psychological. Honorary suggestions: Psycho Pass, Code Geass, even Death Parade. If not Steins;Gate, my second one would be Death Parade. On another hand, this aunt the same genre, but more of a Sugestion. Eventually, please watch Cowboy Bebop. Atleast make it one of your 'Must watch soonish' animes. It's a classic and it's also pretty short. You'll love it. It's also the only anime I got a tattoo from lol

idk they aren’t really “knew to anime”anymore to be fair. they’ve watched demon slayer jjk aot haikyuu silent voice naruto mha fire force and many others. but i do understand what you are saying. i may be saying this because i think it would better to watch steins gate over code geas. i just do not like code geass for some unknown reason. but i do understand where you are coming from even though i do not fully agree

Its good but not the type of show you watch when ur kinda new to anime(for lack of a better words) you gotta be like old to anime to watch that(not old as in you are old but as in you have been introduced to anime long ago you get me? as others have said Monster is a classic but psychological thriller anime. you could also check out Ergo Proxy or the 1st season of Psycho Pass.

I have to suggest psycho pass, summertime render and death parade too. There are so many great shows that fall under the suspense genre. If you want more shows like this, suspense is what you're looking for. Most psychological/thriller/mystery/drama anime belong to this genre

Fun fact: L is filthy rich, a billionaire in fact. I believe the anime doesn't cover this so it's not a spoiler. L as a child bought stocks and got rich off of it. Combine it with the fact he's been solving the world's hardest cases for years everything should add up.
