2024-01-05 04:31:46 +0000 UTCJust to add to his comment, nikushoko (meat eaters) and soshoku (grass-eaters) are the classic macho guys and more shy passive guys respectively. A couple other funny terms they have are rorukyabetsu danshi (rolled cabbage) which are guys that seem shy but at their core are macho/manly and the counterpart asupara-bakon-maki danshi the guy that acts macho but is secretly all show.
