Comments

i just want to keep watching, omg this show is so good!!!! if you guys after finishing the LA want to know a little more, or want to be more excited I would recommend to watch The Breathtaking World Of One Piece Video, it not spoiler thing, is more like general knowledge and the appearance of certain locations of the world , its pretty good video, to increase the excitement for the show

My man ron, if you are already mentioning a zoro tattoo on ep 3 of the live action, i imagine you will be getting a zoro and possibly luffy tattoo if you follow through with the anime.... There is NO WAY you don't lmao, One piece is peak. Fun watching this with you guys I CAN'T WAIT till you dive into the anime

Mamox

I don't see it, personally. And I don't want it, because I think it would eat too much into the budget. I do want Jamie Lee Curtis as Kureha, though. She's perfect for it, and she's a fan, too!

onepinksheep

the big 3 are all bangers but never did something catch me like one piece did just a different breed so much to learn explore and grow with the crew people say its too long but for real it is too short and i think all the fans can kind of relate to that

NamelessKing67

i started when i was 8 ... now i am 31 and still going on

I’m betting $10 that Shanks will be Ron’s favorite character in the official series, and I quote.

OMG! I get you! I went through something similar but it was the 4Kids Dubbed version that made me shun away from One Piece.

Phyllis

Yes, please watch the One Piece anime!!! XD I promise you it will be a journey of your life. So not pressuring you to start the anime anytime soon. Just start when you are ready to take the load cause I know it is not easy. You will not regret starting One Piece. I've been through the period of the Big 3 anime and watched Naruto+N.Shippuden and Bleach but did not get hooked on One Piece yet for only ONE reason which is due to the 4Kids One Piece DUBBED VERSION!!! It was horrible!!! Terrible!!! My first episode of One Piece was ruined for life thanks to 4Kids DUBBED. But I was still interested of One Piece and know most of the characters because of all the good reviews I saw online and my good friend who has been telling me I have to watch One Piece subbed but by the time it was already 500+ episodes in and the manga even further and I did not know if I can binge that many episodes. I was hesitant to step into the world of One Piece because the 4Kids DUBBED really left a trauma in me for One Piece. Time skip to 2020 and COVID happened. My friend sat me down to do a One Piece SUBBED marathon together. I was hooked immediately and the episode that secured my addiction is in the East Blue Arc. The scene in the anime is so much more impactful than the Live adaptation(you'll see). I binged the anime and caught up to the latest episode in about 2-3 weeks. My only regret was not starting One Piece earlier but I was also glad that I didn't need to go through the torture of waiting each new episode every week.

Phyllis

I started One Piece I think in 2014 or 2015. Thought it was just some goofy stupid show, thought no way it would be worth watching. Naruto and Bleach just seemed way cooler. My friends kept bugging me to watch One Piece and I kept saying no it looks dumb I got injured one day and had to stay home for a week. I did nothing but watch One Piece and eat Instant Noodles. I think within a week I was around 200 episodes in lol. I BINGED. Idk how I got so far in but I did and it was legit one of the best weeks of my life ngl lol. It was good at the start but showed its age, by episode 30 something I was hooked. Around episode 180 I was like... Okay this might be my favourite series of all time. And that was solidified after the next big arc. And it wasn't because of epic fights or anything like that. It was the story. I fell absolutely in love with it.

Ron's tattoo artist MVP, he was speaking facts. If you guys are this keen on checking out the rest of the story at episode 3 of the LA, you ain't ready lol. One Piece just has a vibe to it. It's hard to explain, but it can make you cry when things aren't even sad (it can dish out some serious emotional damage tho lol). Some parts are just so wholesome and beautiful, and the scale of the adventure is insane. If the Live Action makes it to season 3 minds are going to be blown And make no mistake, One Piece is not a battle manga like Naruto or Bleach. It's an adventure manga with a Shonen protagonist. Story is the strongest part of the series and it is DEEP. It has layers upon layers and the exponential return arc after arc as the story builds on itself and all of the different factions and crews and Kingdoms who's leaders are tied to the World Government in different ways, the way the plot moves around the world when the main characters have nothing to do with it etc, it has its own shifting political climate. Eventually you just start asking how someone even wrote this shit It blows my mind whenever I think about it, how someone wrote this series chapter for chapter. It's not like a novel where the writer can go back and edit the start when they've written 80k words. What is published in chapter 1 stays published. And that goes for all Manga of course, but One Piece's scale just makes it a whole different beast Hope you guys decide to check out the anime after the LA. Obviously it shows its age early on, but once it sucks you in, you are in.

SomeoneElse

Buggy didn't fight back against Arlong because he knew he was fukd. Better to be on their good side etc

SomeoneElse

Ron's definition of Nepotism and trying to play it off super cool was fucking hilarious

SomeoneElse

Definitely recommend one pace if they are watching off screen. But not sure how safe one pace are for reaction channels or reactors as a whole.

Oreo

There’s rumors that Tom holland might be casted next season as 🔥👊🏼🤠 (for the og anime fans you know what I’m talking about)

Brandocommando

You guys would be lucky to start the anime right now or within a year period since it’s coming to a closure and some of us have spent 16 years waiting for luffy’s final transformation (final because “no spoilers”) all I can say is that one piece is a different level to your perception of anime and story writing.

Ron Irish and Jap. Michelle Korean I really don’t know I’m a mutt Czech, Greek, Irish, Spanish, British Mostly Greek and Irish even tho my last name is Slovakian (Czech).

Saith Uchiha

Live action always sucks. This IS defiantly the best Live Action I’ve ever seen. I’ve never watched a second ep of a L.A. I’m sincerely impressed

Saith Uchiha

Guys big one piece fan here don’t start the anime yet even though it pains me to say it you guys have enough on your schedule already but if you do decide to start it even with everything you guys have on your plate you’ll enjoy it also mods their are many comments with spoilers in them you guys should check the comments again

TEMPEST

They'll be sold on the story before pacing becomes an issue, and at that point its just a matter of pushing through. I also had my finger on the forward button through a couple of the later arcs lol but I would have been fine without doing that if I had to. The story is just so interesting. It makes you want answers so badly that most people can deal with that stuff lol They should just use One Pace when they get to Dressrosa

SomeoneElse

wow thank you for this, i tried watching one piece a few years back and got 70 episodes in before i got too sick of the pacing and quit. i'll check one pace out, sounds way better

DB Cooper

one pace would be good for them but its just a journey to go with the original anime and pacing imo.

TheRoyalMhozy HD

thats good but id recommend watching the actual one piece anime and get the feel of the slow pacingbc its part of the journey.

TheRoyalMhozy HD

you need to start the anime after, ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOO PEAK. best anime/manga

TheRoyalMhozy HD

When I was younger, I'd read fanfictions, and they would use photos of Emily Rudd (Nami) for female characters. When I first saw this adaptation, I kept thinking to myself that she looked really familiar, and it turns out that I did know her hahaha. I can't believe she's a fan of anime! I've been seeing her photos around the same time that I got into anime.<3

ἀράχνη

Can’t wait for the next episode

SOUL AGONY

There is indeed an anime version of Alice in Borderland but they purposely only made it up until the greenhouse part where they play fetch of the first season as a prologue. It's a little different than the live action and imo even better.

Piranhaconda

Manga is usually released on a weekly or monthly basis through magazines like Shonen Jump or Hana to Yume. The tankobon/books are compiled after the story has released a sufficient number of chapters.

chaosdreamer

Michelle as Boa Hancock Cast now ! :D

Elazar

One Pace will definitely get them through the slower parts of the story, and the more current arcs are a lot less fluffy.

Ray Parker

One Pace is goated

CozyPenguin

Yes i am! I am 1/4 okinawan

Michelle Lam

i thought the actor looked like JK also especially in his interview

Ameed Abuzahrieh

Thank you for letting me know. I will check it out, so it won't be such a chore to get up to date ^_^

Leona DiCarryo

I’m pretty sure One Pace is caught up. (Not entirely sure though since I don’t use it). It just cuts out a lot of unnecessary scenes that you don’t really wanna see and don’t effect the story

Karaka

Ron aren't you part Japanese?

jeremychavez

I also never heard of One Pace. Is it caught up to the anime more or less? Or has it only gotten to like ep 300 or something?

Leona DiCarryo

Yh you guys are right in your discussion aswell. It’s best to see One Piece as a journey instead of watching it to just catch up. I’m 22 now and I started watching One Piece when I was 10 and then re-watched and then re-read it all again when I was 16/17 and came across so many things I didn’t catch as a kid, it felt like a whole new different series because I could understand the story a lot more. The world building and foreshadowings are so insane that one little line that you read or hear becomes a huge deal later on in the story. It also deals with so many real life struggles in the world like Slavery/discrimination/corruption and so much more. It also brings out so many different emotions, one arc you’ll be laughing so much and the next arc you’ll be crying. It just has everything.

Karaka

I've never heard of one pace that might get me into one piece again. BTW I like One piece but the pacing is not optimal for my important time

Marcus

Fuck yeah Wally, send me a message and let me know the name! Congrats my dude!!!!

MrPoseidon

I agree with the pacing of one piece being horrendous. After watching their reactions to Naruto im already getting frustrated with the pacing it has too, and one piece pacing is even worse. Thats why I think it would be a great idea for them to react to One Pace, they do good job of improving the pace. Like 30-40 episodes in length are edited down to like 20-25 in length and they do a really good job with it.

KevUrb

I think this would be considered a spoiler, talking about potential romance in the show, since this is knowledge you have from watching what they haven't watched yet. Not trying to bash you or anything. Just trying to be a bit careful, especially after the video they just dropped about spoilers in the comments

Leona DiCarryo

This seems like an unpopular opinion, but I'm not sure they would like the OP anime that much, solely because of the pacing. I am currently just past ep 800, so this is not just coming from a hater, that dropped the anime after a few episodes. The reason OP has so few fillers compared to Naruto, is because of the different approaches the shows had to catching up to the manga. When you have a long running show like these, where they release an episode every week, you will eventually catch up to the manga. There are a few ways to avoid this. Naruto avoids it by adding a bunch of fillers when they get close to catching up. This gives the manga some time to get ahead again. This approach also mean it is easy to skip the fillers now that the show is done, and the normal episodes have a better pacing overall because of it. Instead of doing like Naruto, OP slows down its pacing A LOT, so it doesn't catch up. So where Naruto has an intro, the episode, and an outro in each episode, OP has the opening dialogue, the opening, summary of the previous episodes, a lot more panning shots where nothing happens, the important parts of the episode, the outro and a sneak peak of the next episode. Because OP does all this, it means that every 25 min episode, feels like it only has at most 5 important minutes, whereas Naruto has maybe 15 min. And I think this pacing would be too slow for them, especially in the long run. I personally deal with it by having a finger on the forward button, so I can skip all the 5 seconds panning shots and what not. But as reactors, they can't really do that, since everyone in the comments section would be grilling them for it. So in my honest opinion, I don't think it would be a good show for them to start. But I am also ready to be proven wrong. I would love to see them react to all the best moments of the show. Sorry for the long comment ^_^

Leona DiCarryo

What Ron said about the One Piece anime is true. But the best thing is that in almost every episode you can find hints and easter eggs for future events. Everything builds on each other and then results in an incredibly well thought out story. I can't wait for you guys to react to the anime.

Hamad Panzer

Karaka

one piece is my all time favorite. im all caught up in the manga. my wife is pregnant with a girl (we just found out a week ago) and the name we have decided on was inspired from One Piece. this show is goated (if you wanna know the name i dont mind sharing but idk if itd count as a spoiler so ...ya)

WallyOne

I love how each episode you guys watch is inching you closer towards the anime, it’s sooo worth it! I’ve been watching for 10 years and I still get excited for the new episode to air every Saturday. I think your tattoo artist summed it up pretty well and I definitely wouldn’t rush adding it to your schedule if you guys already have too much on your plate because like you said you might get burnt out or start mix different plots/characters/etc together. Also I’ve been saying for awhile if you guys watch OP Ron will probably get a Zoro tattoo

Brandisimo

The actor for Zoro is also a big One Piece fan but he's a bit more stoic and not in as many interviews because of how his agent and agency works

Conan

You should just start the anime!!! Follow your gut Michelle!! :)) I’m also happy to see you guys loving one piece. I can assure you you will both love the anime. There’s a reason why it’s one of the longest running mangas… And I think your experience with the live action will not take away from your experience with the anime. Listen to your tattoo artist Ron!!! And yeah… I started watching/reading One Piece 15 years ago. My younger brother was a big fan (at the time I was more into Bleach) and because I wanted to spend more time with him as a teenager I started sitting down with him to watch it on Cartoon Network. Now, as adults, both still watching the show and reading the manga, our conversations always start with a “what do you think of the latest chapter?” Hahaha it’s definitely been a link between us after all these years apart :) love one piece PS. Love that you’ll start watching 86. One of my favorite shows of the last couple of years and so underrated.

PattieLo

YESSSS! Start the ANIME!! One Piece is PEAK!! In the anime you can feel the emotion way more IMO!

Ogbhino

I love how Luffy is talking about “Freedom” so early on in the story in the Live Action. Him and Eren (from AOT) being 2 characters who are all about “Freedom” and have a strong sense of it, are my favourite Anime characters of all time. They’re so similar but so different at the same time. Eren seeks Freedom but Luffy is the embodiment of Freedom itself.

Karaka

you guys your program is hectic!! love how you wanna satisfy everyone's requests but just uploading more eps of a show and watching less different ones is def better for u as watchers and easier on u. especially when watching one piece (super excited for when u start) it could get too hard for u. enjoying the shows comes first<33

nicki

If you guys do start one piece, id suggest reacting to One Pace. They remove the fillers and a lot of prolonged crap. Have a tissue box on hand, so many moments that will give you tears or joy 🥲 as well as break you 😭 The manga right now is currently in the final arcs. I watched my first one piece episode back in the early 2000s when I was in high school, but I was put off with the 4kids dub… wasnt until started streaming more anime subs off stream sites that i got hooked onto one piece. Naruto, One Piece, Code Gease, Death Note really got me hooked as an anime fan in the 2000s… Dbz and gundam wing were really the only animes ive watched prior to that. But its crazy that over 20 years later im still patiently waiting to find out what the one piece is and find out the answers to all the other unanswered questions in the one piece world. On a side note, Oda the creator had just came out like a day or two ago with news that Netflix has greenlit season 2, and I believe up to 6 seasons if im not mistaken.
