This reminds me of first watching this show. I look forward to the update every week, but I encounter greater despair every time. But this show has its own charm, it has its own style, which makes it very unique. In most anime, the main characters usually work their way up to become powerful, or are very powerful from the start. But this anime has brought challenges and despair to the audience from the very beginning. Some people hate that the main character is very weak, powerless, and unable to change the status quo. But isn't it the same in our reality? Even though it's a fantasy anime, don't we just play Subaru all the time in our daily lives? When facing challenges, feeling powerless, hopeless and angry, no anime can bring me the closest feeling of real life than this one.

I feel like SAO would be more of Michelle's anime than Ron's. Ron is a player, and he would probably get mad at some of the facts, that other people did get mad. While Michelle is less of a player, and she cares more about romance, and SAO's romance is one of the best stories.

You guys should've start off with watching Konosuba first, a lighter and more comedy isekai, some might even say the funniest isekai yet, recommended for most beginner Isekai watcher, also Re:Zero made a reference a scene from Konosuba at some point, in one of the movie because they were produced by the same studio but you guys won't get it, sad.

My favorite anime episode of all time is episode 15. Just the way the show portraits everything from passion, hatred, fear, despair, love and can't ignore the masterclass voice acting amd ost. The ending and the episode had me in tears. I know most people are on the Rem train but Emilia hasn't had too much time to shine just yet. For me its a difficult choice. Can't wait for the next 2 eps!!

Episode 15 is one of my all time favorite episodes in anime, Betelgeuse put on such a performance and the voice acting was so good!!. I may be wrong but i believe the VA for betelgeuse is also the VA for inosuke from demon slayer

Dang, you gotta watch more anime then. There's definitely worst out there. But even though subaru was going thru it, to me it definitely felt like he was putting on a front to an extent. Even IRL, insanity doesn't look like that, and the writers did a good job portraying that.

The OVAs were released before 2nd season. The OVA "Memory Snow" is located between episodes 11 and 12. The OVA "The Frozen Bond" is a prequel.

If you're referring to the extra added scene to the end of season 1, it isn't necessary to watch director's cut for that as the first episode of season 2 has that same scene.

most people are team Rem during season 1 but I say that is only because Emilia didnt really have much of a chance to shine in season 1. I am absolutely Emilia > Rem. also episode 15 is definitely one of the best episodes. I think season 2 has some better episodes though. Betelgeuse is a really well done character. it feels creepy just watching him. this arc is definitely what hooked me on the show the most. and since you guys are nearing the end, whenever you are watching the final episode make sure to watch the directors cut version. additionally there is a movie that was released between season 1 and 2 that is lore relevant and helpful to understanding some context for things that happen in season 2. commenting this now since I am unsure how ahead you guys record episodes.

It's going to get even crazier especially in season 2. Also, your reaction to this show made me feel you'd enjoy watching the seven deadly sins. It's not isekai but it's an enjoyable watch.

Ron, to give you a different perspective on Subaru's situation, think of it more like this: Subaru barely still knows anything about this world or the power that's bringing him back. Put into gamer terms: Does Subaru have a certain number of lives? Will he always restart at the same place? Even if he does reset, is it literally impossible for him to get there and save everybody in time? And with inferring that his power has to do with this Evil Witch everyone talks about, is it even safe for him to keep using? These are all questions we would ask ourselves in his situation. And Subaru has even brought up his concerns around his powers in the show as well. He may revert back to his save point, but the mental damage he takes doesn't. His brain still has the Trauma (which you guys kinda discussed at the end.) Anyway just wanted to give my two cents, Mental Health is a complicated thing and Subaru is trying to work his way through that, amongst all the other crap he has to go through.
