For example, Nezuko and the guy Muzan turned when Tanjiro first encountered him. Michelle is right when she said that they only start to mutate when they eat more people/ get more of Muzan's blood. Also, Genya saying he never saw his mom sleep seemed more like hyperbole of a child talking about their parents. She was just always working/ taking care of them that he never saw her go to sleep, probably because he always went to bed before her.

He couldn’t except that there was a Demon that wouldn’t attack humans when his mother attacked her children, and she had to see them die.

2023-05-15 10:03:18 +0000 UTCI think now you can also understand why Sanemi (the Wind Hashira) stabbed Nezuko so brutally in season one at the Hashira meeting and why he was so rude to her in general since he thinks that even if she is part of Tanjiro's family, she will still attack him. And he only thinks this, because of his bad past with his and Genya's mother. That's just my guess, but I think it would make sense

She never slept because she was taking care of 6 kids so she was always working. By the time she got home to sleep, the 6 kids were already asleep so they never saw her sleep. Thats all.

That was like a put a salt in his deepest wound to sanemi, even that tanjiro was not aware of his past. actually, to most of the hashira that tanjiro's saying was could be very painful, because most of the DSC members has a cruel past by a demon.
