Been going through my Patreon inbox and I have seen quite a few of the same questions/concerns (and I'm sure there are people not asking who also want to know) so let me tell all of you beautiful people some things worth knowing.
(in no particular order)
1.) If you have pledged a tier, you are going to get what I promised you regardless of how long you remain a Patron. ****Please don't think I expect you to hang out as a Patron waiting until the end!*** If you need to leave and want to make double-sure that Patreon doesn't delete your info and leave me hanging... send your mailing address to joenobody1995@gmail.com with the subject line "my mailing address (just in case)"
2.) Along those same lines, please know that I routinely PRINT OUT and back up all of your info that Patreon gives me. You supporters mean everything to me and I will literally bust my ass to track every single one of you down so that your package gets to you. If I somehow lose the ability to contact you, I will try FOR YEARS to get in touch to MAKE SURE you get what you paid for!
3.) Since a SINGLE payment in a tier will get you what was promised, it is only fair that people who stay in that tier for MULTIPLE months will get more than a person who is only there for 1 month. So please know that is my style! Nobody will get less than what they were promised and the majority of people (so far) will get MORE.
4.) The size of the package and "extras" you will receive upon completion of the comic will mainly be based on two factors. 1) LIFETIME pledge amount, and 2) How long you were a supporter. So someone who remains a Patron for a long time (even in a small tier), will be rewarded for that (with special attention paid to people who jumped on very early when the comic just started). Many low-tier people will get packages filled with stuff from higher tiers based on these factors. And of course, the people with the biggest LIFETIME support amount will be given more special and unique "extras" at the end.
5.) My inbox here and at gmail has reached thousands. I try to read everything that I can, when I can. Answering can be hard because so many of you are pouring out your soul to me and I don't just want to write "ok, thanks for the message" as a reply. I plan on spending a lot of time answering every one of the emails, I just don't have that time right now. But you are NOT being ignored, please know that! I routinely read your messages when I am feeling down or overwhelmed and they mean SO MUCH to me,
6.) As I just mentioned, my inbox is nuts and I am finding it harder to be organized. I especially feel bad for people who paid for a "draw me into the comic" tier or above because I have kind of let that follow-up fall by the wayside. Please know that you WILL be drawn in before this thing ends. If you are in one of these tiers, please send photos of yourself to joenobody1995@gmail.com. The more photos you send (3 is usually enough), the easier it will be for me to find a place for you!
7.) I know how this comic ends. I just want to say that now. And it's fucking nuts. I'm actually scared that people will think I am making up the ending, that's how crazy it is. But I have known this ending the whole time because it is how it all went down. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. This is one of those cases. I am trying very hard to not give it away. I just needed to say this now so nobody thinks I am getting desperate and just making stuff up at the end to keep stringing people along. The ending is EVERYTHING. Be patient. You'll see.
8.) That being said, that is why I cannot EVER answer questions about when this will be over. It could end in the next 10 chapters, or it could end after another 40 chapters! I am intentionally being vague so I don't ruin the experience. You guys are actually in a very cool position because the finished comic is going to be online for YEARS, DECADES, hopefully FOREVER. And those future-people reading may have to deal with spoilers or just know that they were not there when it was being made, waiting for the next chapter to drop, feeling that anticipation. Because that is very much a part of this. Once it is finished, that's it, it will be a complete story online that anyone can read from beginning to end. I think it is more magical to be following it now. Maybe that's just me, I don't know.
9.) I have a family, full-time job, kids, and this comic which has blown-up to a level that I never expected it to (at least not while I was in the process of writing it). I am definitely pulled thinner than I have ever been in my life. So please be patient and understand that even when I post the very last chapter, it may take some time for me to organize everything into the physical copy. But who knows, I may end up quitting my job at that point and just dedicating my life to getting this thing printed, sent-out, and maybe even onto Netflix or the big screens. Wouldn't that be wonderful!
10.) Because this was never about money. It was always about EXPOSURE. It was always about being heard and you guys do make me feel that way. And that means so much I don't even have the words....
Thank you. Thank you, thank you! And remember, your/your families mental health/comfort/etc... is more important than supporting my project. So don't EVER feel the need to justify leaving this Patreon, switching to a lower tier, or even asking for a refund if you are THAT in need of it! You don't need to explain anything to me: I GET IT!
Thanks again!
Joe
P.S.: Oh yeah, and YES, please send me typos/grammatical errors, etc... I need all the help I can get and do not see that as a criticism or you being rude. As an avid reader, I know how much typos/mistakes can take you out of the moment. Let me know! You can email them to me, write them in the Patreon comments, or feel free to write them as comments in the MrJoeNobody subreddit under that posting of that chapter: https://www.reddit.com/r/MrJoeNobody/
