What I never understood is, how people who are in a minority can experience oppression and then turn around and shit on other minorities who are more singled out. I assume it's internalized bigotry. Most people don't want to dismantle the white patriarchal supremacy. They just want to have more power in the system, and hope that by punching downwards, it will elevate them. It's saddening.

2020-01-29 14:17:42 +0000 UTCAs a straight white man on the left, it has been profoundly discouraging to me to see how many women, POC, and LGBTQ have become de facto conservatives, esp. regarding economics or nationalism. I expected them to be allies.
