So much for plans

This week is going a bit different than I'd hoped. Losing my glasses is proving to be more limiting than I thought it would be - my computer screen in particular is far enough away that I need my glasses, but it's also close enough that using my older backup pair strains my eyes. I can draw on my tablet just fine without them, but when it's time to ink & color something, my choices are to wear the glasses & strain my eyes, or hunch over my Cintiq and strain my back & neck.

It's not just drawing that's affected, either. My outline for the next batch of comic pages is on my PC, and it's formatted in such a way that it can't just be copied over to my phone. Even just reading it so I can type up a proper script on my phone involves straining my eyes or leaning in close to the computer screen.

Today I got thinking about one of my 3D ideas, again - a low-poly base mesh that I can use to sculpt new characters, but that is also rigged both to easily change the proportions, and so I can use it to block in 2D images that need perspective. Candice might be the basis for the model, but the goal would be to use it for any character, including Alice & Mimi...  but working in Maya means either straining my eyes, or leaning in close to the screen.

This is going to be a long 10 days, or however long it takes for my new glasses to arrive...
