About Patreon's changes and how to fix it!

By now, you have no doubt received an e-mail from Patreon about their changes in processing fees. If you haven't check your Inbox. It can explain the arithmetic better than myself.  I was blindsided by this too. We all were.  Every creator on Patreon I have spoken to hates this change. I hate it too. So, how do we fix this? Well, if you are upset by the small increase in your processing fees, please consider reducing your pledge slightly ($10 to $9, for example) instead of dropping altogether. That way you will be charged roughly the same, and creators on Patreon like myself can stay in business.

How else can we fix this? By letting Patreon know how we feel. Myself and every other creator on Patreon I know is fighting this. We're tweeting Patreon management, signing petitions, e-mailing their customer service representatives, protesting in their creator forums and generally trying to make them change their minds. This does not go into effect immediately. Apparently it starts in a matter of weeks. So, my hope is that Patreon will see that this is universally unpopular and will be forced to correct themselves.

Thank you so much for your support. I hope you will continue to pledge to my Patreon. That is how all of this happens.  Ever since I was able to make Renegade Cut my full time job, my life has dramatically improved. I don't want to lose my customers over something Patreon is doing. I will do everything I can to make this better.

Big things are happening on Renegade Cut soon. Tarkovsky Month just finished up. I am rendering a longer-than-average episode on Alien: Covenant as I write this. My Christmas episode on Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas is coming soon. Plus, the Left Behind movie will be released next month.

Take care, and once again, thank you for your support.

P.S. - Those who pledged at a level to receive a holiday card and sent me their address should expect them in the mail in the coming weeks.
