Tis the Season?
Added 2018-12-13 23:58:27 +0000 UTCGood news - the current phase of my contract is complete, and I am officially off for the rest of the month!
Bad news? - by the end of that job, I hated pretty much everything, and dreaded any time Skype would ping. Now I'm taking a few days to relax and recover.
One thing that does worry me a bit is, we're almost half-way through the month, I fly up to Michigan in a week, and for the past couple of weeks I haven't been able to think about anything to draw, much less poses or compositions for my one Christmas idea. But there's arguably enough time...
Worst case scenario, I could turn off billing again. I'm tempted to do that regardless, because everyone has enough financial stress as it is over the holidays. If I can ease that stress just a tad, then why not?
Something I have been working on - because even when I want to, I can't sit still - are my Maya scripts. I haven't touched them since September, and trying to get back into them after that long is an interesting experience. I've had ideas for scripts in that time, but I would just make a note of them for later. Now it's officially later, and trying to wake that part of my brain up is taking some effort.
Normally diving into scripting isn't the best idea when I have things to draw, but over the past couple of months I've been drawing the Candice comic while also working on a job that was stressing me out, so I feel like I need at least a small break from my characters. Plus if I manage to finish this one script I'd put on hold back in September, then at least I'll have finished something...
