Thinking Evil Thoughts... And not the good kind
Added 2018-07-30 01:01:39 +0000 UTCI'm not a very happy camper right now... My latest contract started last Monday. Since this job uses software I've never used before - Spine - I was given 8 days to learn the workflow and get my first character rigged. For the first 4 days, though, I was busy moving out of my house. 3 and a half days of cramming heavy furniture and boxes upon boxes into two storage units, in 90-degree weather and humidity that makes you pour sweat just by stepping outside. And day 4 was capped off by a 3-hour drive further south. Since arriving at my uncle's place, my internet access has been limited to my phone's data, and Dunkin Donuts. Xfinity was supposed to have the internet hooked up by the time we arrived, but that didn't happen. Neither did the Saturday appointment, or today's. Spine uses a network license, so it won't load at all without an internet connection. For the past 2 days, I've been working a couple hours at a time at Dunkin's. That sucks, because I can't just walk away from my computer for a few minutes to clear my head or even use the restroom. And I can't sit in a barely-padded cafe seat for several hours, either. My boss knows what's been going on, at least. I just hope doesn't still expect me to be finished by tomorrow, because that's unlikely to happen. Even if I do finish, I'd have to go back to Dunkins to address any feedback.

Sorry to hear that, i guess that's the effect of the lack of competition that they can get away with ignoring you like that, but hey, at least Spine is pretty straight forward software, since you know how to rig i assume you had no problem with it.

I'm suffering through "unemployment" myself because my company lost my paperwork on my recertification I can't be on shift, so till the state receives and processes my paperwork, bills me for my new license and tells my company I'm ok to work I'm without pay. This is supposed to be 3-4 weeks starting from this past Wednesday.
