First pet portrait completed.

I think I’m done. I repainted the right eye because it was too high and it didn’t look right. Most dog portraits are done with the animal looking straight on. Pet portrait artists ask for reference photos this way because it is difficult to draw/paint dogs looking off to the side. But I think this is pretty good for only having an Instagram photo as a reference that was just slightly out of focus. And working from the photo on my laptop.

I completely forgot to log how much time I’m spending on this piece, but I think it’s been about 10 hours thus far. I thought maybe I could finish it today before I have to do my makeup to get on cam, but that hopefulness immediately escaped my mind knowing how much a perfectionist I am.

My friend lost her 16-year-old Dachshund in early December. I decided the first pet I would attempt to paint to start my art portfolio would be her beloved dog. I’m using one of the photos she posted after Cocoa passed away.

OnlyFans, shelter, & disappointment... (still writing)

I wasn’t that shocked to hear that OnlyFans would no longer allow sexually explicit content starting in October of this year at my friend’s birthday party last weekend.  Caught off guard, yes, but shocked, no.

The company has made millions off of sex workers, and mostly off of women’s bodies to now toss us out like a narcissist does to their victims.

I started writing this post on May 11th, and soon after I began, I noticed an email came through from the Animal Foundation.  I immediately opened it and my heart sank after reading the first sentence, “After review of our schedule and business needs we will not be moving forward with our job offer at this time.”

The haters will be pleased to hear that I will be working a “real” job.  And fuck you, haters.  You sit there judging women and typing nasty, incorrect grammatical shit to women.  Just because we do not have a normal 9 to 5 job, does not mean we do not work.

So here are my couple of big announcements, one of which you probably already suspected over the past year, and the other you should not be too surprised by.  But I am quitting sex work to work a minimum wage...

Hence why I was asking about an app that could give the correct pronunciation of scientific terms. And yes, I use Google, but not all words are accessible. Or it gives me how to correctly pronounce it in Dutch, which is cool 😉, but how is there not an app for scientists/avid learners of science?

Power Greens Salad

I used the extra power greens I had from juicing to make a salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, two hard boiled-eggs (I usually have two hard-boiled egg-whites for a snack and give the yokes to my dogs), and a small piece of the cod I made the previous night for Taco Tuesday. I had leftover cod which I re-heated in the oven for my boyfriend and fed him the fish tacos, again, on Wednesday, while I had a salad. I used Penzey’s Country French Vinaigrette to make the salad dressing.

Last night I made panko-crusted cod-fish tacos. I forgot to get cabbage for them, and I cheated and got Pico de Gallo at Whole Paycheck. I also forgot to get an avocado for my boyfriend. I love avocados, but I’ve noticed the past few years that they sometimes really both my digestive track. ☹️

So we stopped at Smith’s to grab some guacamole. They turned out pretty decent and I served it with rice and asparagus.

Oh, and evidently this will also be my food blog. 🤷...
