A Potential Animation Assignment

As much as I agonize over finishing Daisy's rig, you'd think I'd have a clear sense of what I'd use it for.  I'd like to make a film, but unfortunately doing so would also require a finished environment, props, and perhaps another character.  But where lately I've been thinking about making a game, that would give me a whole bunch of animations to work on!  While I'd want the final animations to be 2D, the 3D rig would allow me to block them in much quicker.

Two ideas for the game occurred to me today, the first being alternate costumes.  I don't know if these would be purely cosmetic, or if they might have unique abilities.  So I've got French maid, cheerleader, bunny girl, goth, Chun-li, slave Leia, and maybe succubus.  Of course, animating Daisy in her regular clothes would be the first priority.  If the game does happen, maybe these costumes should be stretch goals?

The other idea is one I'm tempted to mock up in After Effects, because it's one that might easily sell the game - The Monique boss fight.  Currently the idea is Monique's boss-form would be a succubus, ala Morrigan.  A lot of her attacks could be whip-based, with one wrapping around Daisy and pulling her in close, then Monique pulling the whip like a rip-cord and sending Daisy spinning across the room.  But the big attack - literally - would have her quickly fly off screen, then reappear as a giant from behind the stage.  She'd then hoist up her breasts and then drop them to try and flatten Daisy before returning to her normal size!

On the plus side, I may have one more thing cleared from my plate tonight - one way or another, I'm determined not to spend one more day on this nude Zarya model. With the trouble it's given me, I'm ready for it to be someone else's problem...

True but I think the stretching yourself thin thing still holds strong. Keep up the good work either way Jared.

Just throwing this out there, but that last attack of Monique reminds me of Lunella from Momodora 3. Might be something you'd want to draw inspiration from.

3D pinups aren't any easier, though. Posing a character can take as long as drawing a rough sketch, setting up and testing the lighting can take as long as inks & color, and rendering a high-res image can take hours more...

Keep in mind, I'm not diving into game development right this second. It's an idea I'm toying with in my head, but not one I can actively work on right now, beyond jotting down notes. Even the animations for a non-interactive mock-up wouldn't happen until some time after Daisy's 3D rig is finished.

I will admit Jared, you're stretching yourself a bit thin here as it is trying to balance doing comics/pinups/modeling+rigging. Hell of a fun idea, that I cannot deny! But you're trying to do stuff all at once that people tend to make a patreon specifically for.

if nothing else, you could use the rig for a weekly pin-up to help pad the patreon end-of-the-month rewards
