Hell Month

This has hardly been my best month, to put it lightly. Septembers are always rough for me, thanks to seasonal depression. From one day to the next I'm either lethargic and unmotivated, or my thoughts are going in so many directions all at once that it feels like my brain is boiling. Either way, ideas are in short supply. GOOD ideas, at least... I'm pretty sure if I looked back over the years, most of my worst decisions were probably made during this "magical" time when I can't trust my own thoughts.
Making things so much worse, is my current contract. The first bit of animation - simple cleanup - was given to me 3 weeks late, in the middle of what was supposed to be my vacation. This week I've been doing my first full animation in almost a year, and it's probably more complex than anything I've ever animated before. The best analogy I can think of is if you're used to jogging every morning, but something happens to where you can't for a whole year, and then suddenly you're expected to run a marathon.
This past Sunday I thought my depression had finally cleared, but thanks to this animation it came back with a vengeance over the past three days.
Hopefully October will be better. At the very least, there will be suggestions for me to draw. On that note, the suggestion box is still open! If you have access and have an idea, leave a comment on the "Mary's Monster Month" post. On Saturday, I'll be opening these up for voting.
