After spending most of yesterday modeling Daisy's breast with 32-point edgeloops, today I gave the 24-point version another look. So far it looks like the 24-point version requires fewer changes to the base mesh, while looking pretty much the same.
I hit a setback while trying a simple experiment with Maya's nCloth. I wanted to see if my idea of sending dynamic motion back to the breast joints would work. Short answer - it doesn't. Doing so creates a cycle, which Maya doesn't like. Cycle warnings can usually be ignored, but in this case Maya crashed when I tried to play back the animation! Back to the drawing board...
Speaking of drawing, according to my boss I've got another 2+ weeks before my next contract starts. However much of Daisy I'm able to finish this week, next week I'll be working on commissions. Then it's a question of what my free time will be spent on next month - Daisy's model, or perhaps the next comic chapter?
