Amethyst CYOA - Enter the Corrupted Forest

With you and Tiraxius heading further into the forest you can already start to see the markings of corruption. Trees with blackened bark and vines hanging down from the branches could be seen as you walk down the dirt path. "We're really getting into the thick of it now," the Dragonborn Barbarian said as the sky seemed to darken around you while you enter. "At this point the knowledge that I have gathered has stopped, which means that we're on our own from this point forward. I hope you're the hiking type..."
Though Tiraxius didn't know his way around the corruption he said that he had been to this area previously, and that there were a few landmarks that you could venture too. The first was a lake that was a source of fresh water that one could visit, which might not be a bad idea to get before venturing deeper into the forest. There was also a small hunting and fishing lodge set up further to the north, as well as a logging community in the somewhat opposite direction. The barbarian also knew that deeper into the woods themselves there was a mining operation that was what the Knight-Captain was speaking about during the debriefing.
