RetroArch 1.7.7 - Released!

At last, RetroArch 1.7.7 released! This absolute mammoth release manages to be of even bigger significance than the last! First alpha version of Xbox One/UWP port, Desktop UI Settings, Menu widgets, New GLCore driver, GL 1.1 support, where does it end?!

New Patreon goal, new tiers and perks

Which brings us back to an unfortunate situation we need to discuss - this release could have been released this past weekend had it not been for the buildbot woes we discuss in this article. We have set a Patreon goal that would allow us to significantly upgrade our servers on the hosting plan we have. Right now, a single release cycle can take over 10+ hours, sometimes even 12. With these upgrades, we hope to be able to cut that down by 3/4th or even less. We absolutely cannot do that without hitting this goal.

New tiers and perks

Now the tiers have been slightly changed. We now have the following tiers:

$1 - This gets you access to the exclusive Discord channel on our Discord site. It also shows you with a special badge on Discord signifying your support to the project.

$5 - Has all the perks of $1, but also adds an exclusive Reddit subflair on our subreddit RetroArch page.

$10 - Has all of the perks of $5, but you're able to access an exclusive channel on our Discord site. On here, you can let us know whether or not you want your name enlisted on our special 'Credits' screen, which will be a new feature in future RetroArch versions. We will add your name to this list then so that any RetroArch user from this point forward can see that you helped support the project. We keep saying that this project is made possible by the users, and we truly mean that.
