This render kind of blew up more than I expected...

I figured I'd take a bit to show off some of the work I put into making the Apron inside of Marvellous Designer and to tell you all that I uploaded different quality versions to the MEGA links, in the BONUS folders.

I started out posing the character in Daz Studio, then imported her as an avatar into Marvelous Designer. If you're not familiar with that program, it lets you design 3D clothing using 2D sewing style patterns.

It also runs fabric simulations to let you drape your clothing over your model in a realistic way. This new piece of clothing can then be exported as an .OBJ file that other programs like Daz and Blender can load.

After loading it into Daz I had to load some textures on it so it would not just be that grey colour. I ended up just looking up the hex code for the colour Starbucks uses, and loaded some texture bump maps that I had for Daz.

For the logo, I could have exported the UV maps when I exported everything from Marvelous Designer, then made a proper texture map, but it was a last-minute choice to add the logo, so I used an 'Iray Projection Node'. It's a feature in Daz that lets you project a decal or image onto an object, and lets you move it around freely. I used this method for the logo on both the apron and the cup.

I also ended up editing the logo a bit to make it a bit more fitting with the rest of the render.


I spent a fair bit of time on the name tag textures and model for the character in the comic.

So I had to include it in this render as well.

I made it using a Primitive Cube right in Daz that I then went and made textures for.
